Is it really "CHERRY PICKING" when you're fighting number two on the pound for pound list" tough as nails" MARQUEZ after a year and a half layoff??? There are so many lesser fighers.. i just dont see it

The fact remains that insted of cleaning out his own division, Floyd (Welterweight) is fighting Marquez (career Featherweight and current Lightweight). If lets say Vic Darchinyan was the #2 on the P4P list would Mayweather/Darchinyan be fair just because hes #2?

But to be honest the fight would have had a lot of appeal if it was at 140. But i think JMM will put up a great fight and it wont be that easy for Floyd.

The size difference between Darch and Mayweather can't be compared with Mayweather and Marquez. Marquez would have moved up for Pacquiao ANYWAY, the Mayweather fight just confirms if he will get that fight or not, the man doesn't have much time to waste on tune ups and "test" fights at this stage. He asked for it and got it, simple as that. People were crying "UNFAIR" before Pacquiao stepped in against DLH, shows how much these people know.

My point is just because the smaller man's #2 on the P4P list doesnt mean its fair. Paul Williams' not doing anything why not fight him? Shane Mosley's open why not him?

Mayweather didn't need to fight Marquez to get to Pacquiao, he could have done that as soon as he came out of retirement.

Paul Williams just had a fight at middle and already announced his next fight will be at Jr. Middle. Shane Mosley seems to be busy trying to secure a fight with the "smaller" Pacquiao at Welterweight with endless statements, rumors and offers. Don't forget that Mosley was called out in February and turned it down just like he turned down two other offers long ago.

    Anyone better you have?

After 2 years off that is a very good fight to help buildup a future fight with Pacquiao, after all Pac's last two opponents are also Mayweather's last two opponents.
