Personally i think Marquez would do better, styles make fights. But Mayweather beats them both IMO.

I would if Marquez tested the higher weights with much lesser competition so he can give his body time to adjust, but not immediately 10 lbs higher from his last fight.

I think to beat Mayweather a fighter would need a good jab to keep him at bay/in his shell, be able to handle his speed, but more importantly being a clever boxer and have the ability to adapt. Marquez doesnt have the best jab from what ive seen but does have the boxing IQ and ability to adjust to keep Mayweather guessing, maing it a battle of who can apply their gameplan the most effectively. Marquez was also able to handle Pacquaios speed pretty well (compared to Hatton and Oscar), which would lead me to think he could potentially handle Floyds speed (if he cant he's toast). Pacquaio's speed and southpaw stance and workrate may give Mayweather problems but he can only beat Mayweather one way, and thats by pressuring him, pressure doesnt beat Mayweather this has been proven many times. If Pacquaio tries to box Mayweather Pac would get dominated, Mayweather lead right and precision would be the difference.

I see your point, this is a concerning factor, but Marquez himself said the weight wouldn't be a problem, but we'll soon find out if this is true or not.

JMM is definitely a tougher fight for Floyd then Pac would be. I think Pac would be embarassed if he fought Floyd, I'm actually giving JMM a 35% of beating him.

lol, of course he will say that. JMM isnt exactly gonna go into a fight believing himself he is too small or have his fans believe he is too small.

As for the thread, I disagree, Pac's power, speed, southpaw style & footspeed presents a bigger problem for PBF than JMM's combinations which IMO is his key to winning this fight. When PBF tries to shoulder roll, JMM will throw 5 punch combination and hopefully 2-3 will land, this will rack up the points.

no pac has the speed, and maybe faster then floyd, but i do think manny will last longer then marquez would, i see manny being like hatton against floyd, will keep fighting hard, but with no success, till mayweather puts him down late.

i think marquez woul cuz he's such a technician and a graet counterpuncher and i know he has the patience to wait for floyd to get impatient therefore helping marquez get in there with countering combo's but if that does not work then he is very good at adapting,so i'm giving marquez the edge over pacqiao.

The idea that Marquez will do better against Mayweather then Pacquiao suggest that JMM is going to win by a close margin, cause that's the only thing better then a draw and a raiser thin decision loss (that most fans see as a win).

IDK, JMM looks good against guy who try to pressure him because he's a warrior and he counters and fights on the inside better then anyone who comes at him. He's not all that great coming forward or fighting another counter puncher(john, barrera, casamayor). Look for Mayweather's power and slick defense to make this fight VERY interesting.

If this fight was at 135 or maybe even 140 lbs I'd give Marquez a solid chance due to Floyd being away for over a year and fighting at 147 - 150 the past few years, but since JMM is going up a bit in weight and Floyd isnt really coming down that much I dont see JMM beating Floyd so no I think he would still have a better chance against Manny at say 135 lbs. Although I think Manny has just become more of a beast since he last fought JMM so that might show as well, especially since JMM isnt getting any younger.

Out boxing mayweather in my opinion is the hardest thing to do currently in the sport. For a smaller man it's that much harder. Pac has a better chance.

This is why pac might struggle, he's become more well rounded but he doesn't have a plan b c and d like Mayweather does. Not saying he doesn't win but that's gonna be his biggest problem, adaptation.

If Paul Williams could show me he can handle slick fighters I'd probablly give hm the best shot at outpointing mayweather.
