***** this thread is a joke, Calzaghe had only 2 fights there against the 43 year old BHOP and almost 40 year old shot Jones, I
just can't how you can make a case for him being the best light heavy ever.

    If Spinks couldn't take tyson's punches there's no way he's taking Calzaghe's!!!

Seriously though...despite the fact the his resume is bordering on awful, Joe is an exceptional fighter with a hell of a lot of natural ability. The combination of 1000 punches a fight and a very solid chin make him extremely hard to beat. Add in his akward style...crazy angles...and ability to adapt mid-fight and you have a hell of a fighter!!!

I think he could've seriously given some great fighters real problems, but I can't really back that up as his resume doesn't warrant such claims!!!

No one can even pose a clear argument of who would pose a stylistic threat to the mose superior LHW to ever grace the ring.

calzaghe and the word "grace" don't belong in the same sentence.

Fact 1 = Joe Calzaghe retired as a a one weight world champion
Fact 2 = After 40 or so fights at SMW he became lineal at 168 in his last fight at SMW and never defended his lineal title.

Conclusion = Good fighter but not great and possibly underachieved.
