Lesnar and Carwin would beat him easily. Have you ever seen a HW GnP someone for a full 15 minutes and not finish the fight? It is no great achievement controlling Kongo on the ground.

Cain's chin is also very suspect despite having decent recovery powers. Fact is though if Kongo could have avoided either takedown after he rocked him those two times he would have KTFOd Velasquez.

No way Cain controls big accomplished wrestlers like Lesnar or Carwin who have a similar amount of MMA experience.

I agree of course. The thing is, Cain has been labled the next great HW. Clearly he is not. He is a fantastic wrestler who will lose badly to other great wrestlers and good strikers with decent takedown defense.

The UFC should let Cain fight Carwin next. That will apply some clarity to the division. It's one or the other who are going to be considered true challenger status. I think Carwin would throw Cain around like a rag doll.

Goldberg says "watch out Carwin , watch out Lesnar, watch out Mir". I don't think they need to watch out too closely.

Velasquez has to raw physical tools with his strength and wrestling to become a force in the division. His striking skills are garbage though and he needs to learn some submissions. As he becomes more seasoned - he can only become more dangerous. The question is will he stay at the Coleman/Randleman take you down and GnP level or will he advance and become a more fully rounded mixed martial artist like a Josh Barnett.

Watching clips of his fights, Velasquez does not appear to be as strong and explosive as most of the wrestlers that have succeeded at mma. I feel that Velasquez needs to turn as much focus as he can to bjj at this time. Cain's wrestling is not enough to save him against the elite wrestlers of the sport, and continued grappling progression makes more sense than not.

Velasquez will be a top 5 heavyweight in 5 years...that is unless he somehow faces JDS in the near future, then that would end that dream
