i really didnt like cotto's performance last night............. if cotto hadnt been cut do ya'll think he would had fought a fight better and won a more convincently fight over clottey............. and now that he fought a tougher opponent since the margarito loss he didnt look the same as he used too when he was undefeated he looked a little slower and got tired faster

I think the cut had a pretty major effect on the fight. He was having to wipe it during rounds so he could see.

no doubt the cut spoils his fighting style. He started to run once it was bleeding profusely. He can't see because of the blood and if you watch the fight up until the cut, Cotto wasn't running and was standing mid ring and sometimes following Clottey...Interesting to see if the fight would've been different had Cotto not been cut (I think Cotto would have won more convincingly but thats just my opinion).

Do people think cuts are becoming an issue for cotto or is it just unfortunate? Seems a few of the fights hes taking at what should be his peak are being spoiled by cuts..

A cut will no doubt change a fighters style...It's unfortunate that the cut came from a headbutt rather than a punch. Margarito's punches made Cotto bleed.

a cut will affect a fighter like mayweather ...or paul williams..or any other big hype train
but now cotto? no way in hell that man is suposed to fight through butts ... loaded gloves..the works and still win because if he dosn't win he's a fraud and a fluke and you guys knew it the whole time

Did you see the cut?? There was no way to stop that bleeding other than suture.

Yeah fair point, i just wondered, because it didn't even look like a hard butt, whether people thought he cuts up alot.. And whether that's down to hard fights, or weight issues etc..

Might not have looked like a hard butt, but have you seen Clottey's face? It has sharp edges everywhere :deal

Cotto does bleed from the nose quite easily though. Honestly, I'd like to see him fight two more times - rematch with Mosley outside of MSG and either against Pacquiao or Mayweather. After that, the man should retire...
