I'm noticing as I go through the web that many sports writers had the fight for Cotto and some even had it at 116-111. Sometimes you need to take the emotions of being a cotto hater or lover out of the equation. That's why i look at the writers and so called experts because they view the fight as a fight not as a fan, well some do. Associated press had it 116-112 cotto Dan Rafael(espn) had it 116-111 cotto Eric Sloan (Boxing Examiner) had it 114-113 cotto Ben Thompson (FIGHTHYPE) had it 115-112 Cotto Patrick Gutierrez (Fox Sports) had it 114-113 Clottey Cliff Rold (***********.com) had it 115-112 for Clottey Some say it was a robbery, i say it was a close fight. If Clottey would've gotten the decision I would've been ok with that. The Cotto lovers and Cotto haters just see it different.
I thought Cotto won 115-113. with the bad cut he did a great job, lets face it alot of fighters ahead after 4 would have quit on that cut. and Clottey just didnt go after him enough some rounds and Cotto took them. I think after the cut it was Clottey's to win.........and he chose to lose.
I had it 114 to 113 for Cotto. It was a very close fight, in my opinion. Unfortonunatly for Clottey or any other fighter, to beat Cotto in MSG you have to do a little more.
how you figure he body slam him all he did was dip under and span him and as he did that clottey reached around his neck as cotto was coming up from that dip clottey slipped and he didnt even hurt his knee i believe he was looking for a way out.
I had Clottey 114-113. Coin toss of a fight, Clottey wasn't getting the decision in MSG on the eve of the PR parade.
Unfortunately, a judge isn't allowed to deduct a point unless the referee deducts a point, and then he must deduct it. I also thought he should have been docked a point for that, but then again I also thought Clottey should have been warned and eventually docked for continually pulling the headlock bull****. This fight for me put to rest the notion that either Cotto or Clottey isn't a dirty fighter.
