At first glance for those of you who judge a fighter based on boxrec resumes Kotelnik may see like the kind of fighter who posseses a fairly average punch at the weight hes fighting at. By no means is his KO percentage impressive, but is that in itself deceptive as to his punching ability? Although Kotelnik does not have that many stoppage wins on his record at least not more that 50% it is my belief the opposition he has been fighting is the reason for that. Lets break down some of his most recent opposition:
    1. Marcos Rene Maidana

Kotelnik is quite a featherfist for a JrWW but with Khan you can never rule out a knockout

Kotelnik is a weak puncher, that's why he was chosen.

Should make for a great fight.

Kotelnik is more of a pick em puncher, he picks his shots well but I still think he lost to maidana in his last fight

Need to mention that draw with Mbaye was not a draw and decision with Witter was disputable. Kotelnik won that Mbaye's "draw" and that was not even close. And i hardly doubt he will knock out Khan, because he is too slow and weak puncher, but he can outbox by countrypunching Khan and that won't be a miracle, he throws not many punches but he takes even lesser. People underrate Khans chin and Kotelniks skills.
This fight will go all 12 rounds.

    Could have gone either way.

    I had Kotelnik up 115-114.

Kotelnik has quite a good resume IMO, he seems to get around quite a bit. Some decent names there - hopefully he will starch Khan.

I had Kotelnik losing to Madaina as well (7-5), but at points in that fight, Madaina seemed to be stopped in his tracks and jarred by Kotelnik's punches. Those same punches I can see having more of a dramatic effect on Khan.

Doesn't have sick power but times and places punches very well, just look at some great punches he landed on Witter or Maidana, Khan simply can't allow to eat a single one of them.

I always said that since the most feather-fisted guy can KO Khan (so it doesn't need a puncher), the most technically gifted and accurate fighter has the most chance, and Kotelnik is a quick, skilled, precise counter-puncher.

I've openly stated numerous times that I believe Khan may win. It's a pick-em fight in my eyes. Youth v Experience and Inner grit and determination versus flashy boxing ability.

You are a terrible poster. I mean you didn't even try to use punctuation. What a DISGRACE to ESB.

The thing is, Khan also has 'inner grit and determination', which you can clearly see if you follow his career properly. Watch how he turns the tables on Limond, how he went through Gomez's rough waves to emerge victorious, or even how he kept trying to get up and fire back against the sickening punches that Prescott hit him with. Khan may not have a good chin, but he has plenty of heart, and I give him respect for that.
