It could be a factor, yes, I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

But on the other hand, Chagaev has been through a proper camp and is coming in in shape at a good weight. We shall have to wait and see.

Sanders had ring rust too, and see what he did to Wlad.

Yep, I did, I had good seats...Sanders moved smoothly though the ring....a beautiful side step away from a lazy stop jab by Sanders to throw that first punch....
Side steppin I've not noticed with Chag....and a man not prepared for the fight...cocky...not even spared with left handers...
Wlad is man grown in his head, he knows what getting hit by a big popper does, which Chag ain't...medium popper.
He's not going to stand there and offer his jaw again.
Chag has to go to the liver.

Interesting shout...I wonder. Wlad looks like granite, though, not that it's the be all and end all, but still.

Seems like a mismatch a la Ibragimov. Chagaev - Iggy would have been an interesting fight.

He just hasn't looked good as of lately. He is in shape, though. So, maybe we will get lucky.

It will undoubtedly be a factor. You can get the body hard and in shape but he has to be active in fights to build stamina and timing etc.

    Agreed.

Chagaev - Ibragimov would have been brilliant.

You can find an excuse for any fight. However, this is nonsense. Chagaev just fought in Feb.... Just 4 months ago. Wlad has been out of the ring longer than Chagaev.

Chagaev can come in 2x better than ever and this would still be a mismatch. He's simply not that good. Wlad is miles ahead of this guy and will dispose of him rather easily.
