How come there has never been a Hearns V Curry thread?

I think Hearns would beat him head to head for the bauble, and plus, Lionel Rose is the equivalent of that female judge that robbed Lennox against Evander (Eugena Williams?), so his opinion doesn't count.

Yeah i'm picking Hearns as well, it just cracks me up how some will have you believe (not anyone on this thread as yet though) that at welterweight Hearns was a defensive wizard or something, the man never had a glass jaw, and he had different gears of offense to go through and was varied in his attack, could box, but he can be hit, and can be beaten by other greats in my hunmblest of opinions.

At 154 pounds i believe Hearns may the best there has been however, much more composed there, and complete.

It's not even an opinion as much as its a fact. He WAS beaten by other greats at 147 and 160.

Hearns was almost the complete package, but when he got hit on the button by a strong puncher, he showed the effects more often than not. It isn't glass, and I feel a little cliche to have even mentioned the issue, but that was probably his greatest weakness. Heaven knows, if Hearns had a better chin, he would have beaten Leonard. That would have been huge.

Hearns with a "Robinson" like chin at WW and MW would have been a serious ombre. He was one anyway, even with a slightly shakey chin.

Yeah i'm not narrow minded to the point where i'll say just because other great welters and middles beat him then they all would though, that's not what i'm saying. Hearns can definitely beat some and some beat him, that's all i'm saying with the overrated thing. It's more an accumulation aspect over time of posting here that had me saying it more than anything, it's at the point now where whenever i say his name i let everyone know i think he's overrated, as you can see.

He would have lost the fight to Hagler regardless, you don't beat Marvin with a broken hand. He'd have beaten Leonard (twice) and Barkley (twice).

Of course, we could all say "Leonard with Jackson like power" would be unbeatable. The fact is, he didn't have Jackson like power.

Is there a mythical match-up at 147lb you'd pick to get the better of Hearns?

Id fancy any Hearns to KO Curry, nothing bad against Donald Curry but the styles favour Hearns greatly IMO.

Hearns with Hagler`s chin would likely be the hardest fighter to beat in any weight EVER.

A complete nightmare for every fighter.

Personally, I think Hopkins is like a Hearns/Hagler hybrid.

Curry would test Tommy but "The Hitman" is just the more skilled fighter with more tools.
