Do you believe that a true heavyweight champ will be crowned on June 20?

Wlad is the best heavyweight on the planet, but beating Chagaev is to be expected and is not something that would officially solidify his claim in my eyes.

Ring Magazine is a bunch of ****ing morons.

I don't know, rummy. For all the talk about Chag's illnesses and poor performances, his pedigree as an amatuer and professional puts most of today's heavyweights to shame.

This may be a better fight than you think.

I hope so, but am not holding my breath.

As I said in a recent episode of On the Ropes, it's a total sham that this fight is for the Ring Heavyweight Championship.

They literally make up the rules as they go along.

The reason this should not be for the Ring Title is because even if Chagaev IS the 3rd best heavyweight, he is a few levels below Wlad and Vitali. The #3 exception is arbitrarily used (for example, it inexplicably wasn't used in a more apt scenario when Mosley fought Margo).

Wlad and Vitali are like 1a and 1b right now. They are so far ahead of the next group of fighters (guys like Chagaev, Povetkin, Valuev--guys who can all be lumped in the same group) that a #1 vs #3 fight loses it's meaning.

Ring should have just declared Wlad was their champion some time ago. But now all of a sudden, beating Chagaev will solidify him? Not in my eyes, not any more so than he already was.

As for the fight itself, I expect it to be a vintage Wladimir fight.

Early on he will control things with his jab, by round 4 and 5, he will noticeably start throwing and landing the right with more and more frequency, and he will ultimately wear Chagaev down and stop him.

    I like Wlad TKO7 in a pretty one-sided contest.

Incidentally, I think Wlad would have disposed of Haye much quicker, BUT, I also think Wlad-Haye would have been much more exciting while it lasted.

Chagaev's claim to fame is debatable wins against Valuev and Ruiz.

In my estimation, he is hardly the world beater he is being made out to be by many.

I hope I am wrong and I hope we get a thrilling encounter, but I truly believe Wlad will simply outclass this guy.

Iggy supposedly had a bum right hand in that fight, but regardless, he never took any chances.

I suspect Chagaev will take more chances, and this will be his undoing.

Neither of these are debatable. I had Chagaev winning each by 3 points and every logical person who scored them had him winning. Virchis was also a top ten fighter briefly that he beat.

He has by far the best resume out of everyone not named Klitschko, the only ?'s is that he looked poor in his last two outings and he has been inactive. Hopefully the Drummond fight knocked the rust off.

    Bull****.

The Ruiz fight could have gone either way, and I thought Chagaev looked like **** in that fight.

I scored the Chagaev-Valuev fight a draw, as Valuev came on strong down the stretch.

Both were certainly debatable and it's foolish to suggest otherwise.

Even if they weren't debatable (which they are), his biggest wins are still Valuev and Ruiz!

Wlad is going to outclass this guy.

Establishing "new lineage" is just a ******ed made up term. It's a myth. Everyone knows that the belts don't mean **** unless the best man is holding them. Everyone knows that the ABC orgs are corrupt, yet the same people act like it would mean anything more if Wlad had them all. Wlad's accomplishments in the ring over the last 5 years speak for themselves. Nobody even comes close. Vitali's WBC title means next to nothing, and so does the WBA. Wlad is fighting the true WBA champ today, and the title isn't on the line... does that make a difference? Hell no. The WBC title and their politics have become one of the biggest jokes in boxing. It doesn't make Wlad any greater if he were to have beat Sam Peter AGAIN and took that title too... or Rahman when he held it... ect... The facts are the Wlad is the top dog of the division and the TRUE Heavyweight Champion. He has been dispatching Champions, mandatories, and undefeated contenders for the last 5 years.

    Yes, obviously.

The Ring belt is the indicator of that.

Unfortunately, it went down more or less as I expected.

Chagaev was outclassed by a far superior foe, as anticipated.

And I give credit where credit is due, to you and Wladdy.

The man is a champ. Haye would not have lasted through 2.
