It was good boxing no doubt but also boring and clinical in a way. However congratulations to WK on a dominant performance and being the real heavyweight champ.

I found tonight frustrating as WK could be even better than Lewis ever was. He won this fight against a decent opponent without really having to dig deep and show his real stuff. Just boxing safety first was easily enough. Imagine how could he could be with more self-belief and a nasty array of punches, not just the left-right (which are excellent btw).

So why was he being tentative? We know that his chin isn't as bad as people make out otherwise he wouldn't have got to where he has. hag hit him flush hard at the end of one round and it did nothing to him.

WK is a really great fighter that THINKS TOO MUCH.

It bugs the **** out of me that Wlad has all the physical advantages and yet is still so filled with fear he fights so unlike how a heavyweight should fight.

Does anyone seriously rate the Tyson that Lewis beat? He was beyond finished. It was the most shot. oldest, most uninterested Tyson there was. Hell Shields even said Tyson was skipping training sessions every week. Tyson did not care about one thing but the money in that fight. Lewis has a dead man in front of him and it took him 8 rounds to end a fight that should have been over in half that time.

This is really tiresome meme from you ****s. As if there aren't black fighters taking all sorts of flack from posters here day in and day out. The HW division is dull as ****, get over.

Chagaev means far more to Wlad's legacy that Haye ever would. I almost wish it were Haye in there. He would have been out in two. Haye would have never taken the shot Chagaev took on the chops in round two.

Wlad is not RING MAGAZINE CHAMPION. He is still in his prime. The haters can hype Haye, then tear him down as soon as Wlad whips him.

No... I don't. I am a big Vitali fan. However, I am being realistic. You have to earn the spot of #1... and Vitali hasn't even come close. Wlad doesn't need to beat Vitali to be #1... Wlad IS #1. Vitali would need to beat Wlad to be #1. It's as simple as that.

In my experience, people will always find something to criticize about someone, no matter who they are. Here are the facts as they stand. Since Wlad's loss to Brewster, here is what he accomplished:

    He won two world titles.
He handed 5 previously undefeated fighters their first losses.
He KO'ed or TKO'ed 5 fighters who were never KO'ed.
He avenged a loss with a dominating performance.
He came up off the canvas to win in two fights.
He defeated 6 former or future champions.

As far as I know, Wladimir wins, ugly or not he wins without any semblance of cheating or robberies. He's boring? Ok... doesn't take anything away from the victories.

Wlad is maintaining his style of boxing in each fight as it is a dominant and winning style which is aesthetic and pleasing, like watching sort of a matador pick apart the bull.

People pay big money to watch the great matadors exhibit their mastery in the face of the most fearsome animals in sport Like all bullfights with the meanest bulls, all these fights are dnagerous for WK but he makes it look so simple and easy.

It's up to his challengers to force him to alter his tactics. You don't mess with success or fix what isn't broken. WK should continue doing it exactly the way he is doing it. We are witnessing a grand master matador at work.

He was light years better than what we saw in Chagaev tonight though!

Not even close. Tyson would have been knocked out by a Heavy Bag in the 11th round the night that he fought Lewis.

I say 'To each his own' then. Vitali was the number one heavyweight when he retired and he never lost that spot in the ring to any fighter. There is a case for him.

    Good luck with your efforts.

What Vitali was over 5 years ago doesn't mean a thing today. I say that as a big Vitali fan. To be honest... it makes no sense at all. So if Lennox Lewis came back and beat Cliff Couser, then Lennox would have a claim for #1 again... since Lennox was #1 when he retired? It's silly.

I find this message board quite humorous. Most all the guys on here who detract from Wladimir want to be his trainer and manager, show him that he has got it all wrong. Help him along to be a more "exciting fighter". Sit back in their armchairs and tell him how they would like his punch ratio's to be, how to take the guy out quicker, or pick a better fighter next time after he beat his opposition too easily. But the unbelievable ironic part is that most of this expert advice comes from people who fanatically want to see him get destroyed in the ring regardless who is fighting him. Now ask yourselves if you were Wladimir who would you listen to, the fanatic know it all posters of message boards like this or maybe your world class trainer who has coached you to dominating success?
