Makes one wonder would the Heavyweight division be better-off if Klitschkos were never born, after reading an article that the Heavyweight division is dead. The championship fights would be more entertaining because there would be no two Lords beating weak beasts, but beasts fighting each other would be more competitive. But with only beasts around, maybe this would be better-off, because with these two Lords in the mix, all it does is show to the beasts that thats all they really are, is just beasts and no professional boxers like the Klitschkos. It shows them the possibility of their own potential, but it leaves motivation and dedication decisions for them to make. But they are to weak to do so.

All this talk about heavyweight division being bad because there is no one out there to stop the brothers, and their fights are boring because the opponents are too weak, makes me wonder would physics be better off without the shadow of Einstein? Would philosophy be better off without Aristotle and Plato? Would USA be better off without such humble and great presidents as Washington, Jefferson, and Adams?

This is all nonsense. This kind of reminds me of Ayn Rand books, where the entrepreneurial giants are hated for being Titans in their fields and everyone else so low below them. They are so fool of hate, that they fail to realize that the greatness of these great men and women is good for society because it provides great role models and examples for future generations and, in this situation, the sport itself.

But this is all not true. Heavyweight division is not dead, but growing. Maybe in the US it is stalling, but almost all around the world the sport of boxing is growing in great prospects. We forget this. The most popular sport in the world is soccer, but to most Americans this is not their type of a game. So the Heavyweight division is not dead. Look at what the Klitschko brothers did in Eastern/Central Europe. So many kids there want to be like Klitschko and are taking out boxing as their sport.

So just because we have to Lords in the mix with weak boxers, I think it is good for the sport because it shows to upcomming boxers the potential and possibility of the human creature when they give it their all, onlike most of the underdeveloped slobs that come enter the ring with any of the brothers. Anyone to be coming up in the future of boxing has two more great boxers as their role models, maybe not for style of fighting, but for the fact that all of their pro fights they came out very well trained and in marvelous form.

Strangely intelligent post for ESB, someone has read some philosophy and history. I agree, when people take something over so utterly as to dominate everything pales in return.

    Good post and keep posting!

Lets look at the division prior to the Klitschko brothers. You had Lennox Lewis doing the same thing the Klitschko's are doing now - using his height, skill and power (and even the same trainer) to dominate the HW division.

In the years directly after Lennox retired, everyone was annoyed because HW titles were dropping every other fight. Chris Byrd and John Ruiz basically held the title belts hostage during that time and no one rose up to be "the man" of the division.

Now you've got Wlad being "The man" and his brother being "the man" and because they're not American, because they dominate any fighter they come across, you get a bunch of bitches whinging about it being unexciting.

Same bitches that probably have issue with Floyd, too.

I hear what your saying, but to be honest, it's not the fact that there not American, it's because so few people can relate to the Klitschko's. Not everyone is blessed with the physical gifts, both Klitsckho's were born with. Not to mention the fact that both of them have PHD's and grew up in an upper middle class neighborhood. Amercia loves an underdog with heart and courage, someone who came up the hard way and found a way to get to the top.

I mean guys like Tyson, Holyfield, Foreman, Frazier, all had it tough growing up. These are the guys most of us could relate to, only a small percentage of America can relate to a Wlad or a Vitali.

So what you're saying is America loves out-of-shape, uneducated black fighters from the hood? Your America is not the America--it's merely your own insulated perspective devoid of objectivity and logical thought.

So this is the argument you're going with now after Klitschko's latest critically acclaimed performance: WLAD AIN'T GOT NUFF STREET CRED.

No the division is not. You need a dominant figure in the Heavyweight Division so you can point him out and say "That's the Heavyweight Champion".

only in boxing is it a bad thing to have such dominance. the other problem is that the one fight that could make the public realize just how good they are cant be done without a mothers blessing

I'm not saying all that. Americans like our fighters with some personality, The Klits lack an enertaining personality. I mean look at how much attention Haye has been getting, the guy practically got a title shot by just his mouth alone. The people want to see a little drama before the actually fight, some **** talking, maybe a little fight at the weigh-in. The average fans want to be shocked, but Wlad continues to give them the same type of boring show with every fight anymore.

I think Boxing is better off now than it's ever been in every single country except.... America.

Imagine if a team from England competed in the NFL and won every single time they played? Or if a team from Australia competed in the NBA and won the championship.

The olympics aside, America doesn't do too well in sports worldwide, they don't have to face this much because their glamour sports are all pretty much North American league only (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB)

You can bet your ass if the London Pitbulls were an NFL franchise and won the superbowl two years running, their crowd sizes in America would only be big due to "The Barmy Army" following them over.

Also the view of Klitschko's having natural advantages that not many others can aspire too.

I'm 6'3, 174lbs - There is no way my body would ever allow me to pack on muscle even up to 200lbs without it being steroid induced. Every HW boxer has natural advantages "the average man" does not.

It's the truth that most the haters would then think that the heavyweight division was loaded with talent. They don't understand that all of the top guys have world class talent. The Klitschkos are simply so great... that the others can't compete.

You generalize...and I guess I did somewhat to when it comes to Americans. Many Americans do love boxers that have a big mouth, but this goes for all places. This is why Haye-Klitschko was going to be such a sell-out, because he created all this tension. No controversy is bad controversy in terms of making money (i.e. Eminem, Tyson, Haye). But I much rather enjoy people with humble characters and who do their job close to perfection. I respect people like the Klitschko brothers who do all their work in the gym and in the ring with their hands and body, and not with their mouth. This is why WWE is so popular. Bunch of steroid-packed adults who act like 12 year old children making angry noises, funny faces, and promising hell-fire on their opponent. Im here to watch boxing, and expect great boxers in the ring. This is a sport, not a comedy. Society would be better if people acted with more humility.

So, why do we pay so much attention to all this nonsense and get excited about? Beats me? But one thing for sure, if all the boxers were deaf and all they could do is just box and not talk, many would stop watching the sport. This goes to show that many people are not watching it for the sport, but for the talk.
