why is david haye so reluctant to fight?he has very limited number of pro fights and seems as if he is happy fighting once every two years.i am not just talking about when he pulled out of his recent fight but even when he was deciding on his last fight him and/or his team took foooooreeeever to decide to fight montey barret.

You have one example. I'm afraid I don't see a trend developing.

He only turned pro seven years ago, only the last few years has he had fewer fights, he used to be pretty active, but that's what happens as you progress.

And hey, every boxing fan on the planet knows who he is, so he knows what he's doing.

he's holding out for a big money klitschko fight. the guy isn't stupid, he's very business savvy and knows his weaknesses. Haye could easily be taken out by a number of top 10 hws.

he capitalized on his hype and talk but his 'injury' has hurt him and now he may have no choice but to fight legit hws to get a title shot. It's very likely Wlad takes on Povetkin next and Vitali/Arreola gets made.

Or he can just not fight and go on the Bunce show again and just trash the Klits some more. Seems like a lot of people like that and warrants a klitschko fight.

He will have to get in line so to speak. Who are these legit Heavyweights that you speak of that will beat Haye besides the Klits?

I would give Haye his props as a hw if he could beat any of the following:

    Ruslan Chagaev
    Nikolai Valuev
    Alexander Povetkin
    Tony Thompson
    Alexander Dimitrenko
    Chris Arreola
    Sam Peter
    Eddie Chambers
    Juan Carlos Gomez
    Lamon Brewster

Even guys like Ruiz, Kevin Johnson, Austin or Maskaev would be a good step up from Barrett

He's said he doesn't want to box past thirty, you've got to believe him, he took risks and became an undisputed champ in twenty something fights, that's moving pretty fast.

I agree that these would all be steps up from Barrett. Here are what I think happens:

    Ruslan Chagaev- Haye UD
    Nikolai Valuev- Haye wide UD
Alexander Povetkin- Haye by UD or late stoppage
Tony Thompson- This could be dangerous for Haye, Haye close UD
Alexander Dimitrenko- Here's a good test: Haye by UD or late stoppage; Alex has bad defense. Good inside game though.
Chris Arreola- Haye by early KO.
    Sam Peter- Haye by Stoppage
Eddie Chambers- Haye wide UD or stoppage
Juan Carlos Gomez- Haye by Stoppage
    Lamon Brewster- Haye by Stoppage
    Ruiz- Haye by UD
    Johnson- Haye UD
    Austin- Haye by stoppage
    Maskaev- Haye by Stoppage

I think it would be good if fighters fought at least 4 times a year. Especially if they are not in heavy wars or have to heal up some cuts.

Haye was fighting at National Title level and above in his 2nd year. Once your fighting 12 rounders you can only really fight 3-4 times a year max. He also suffers from bad hands and got injured again.

Also he has never had a strady promoter so finding opponents and negotiations can be difficult as Haye knows what he is worth.

He hasn't taken many 'easy' fights, in his career to date. Whilst he was a cruiserweight, he always looked to take fights that were going to challenge him and help him progress.

He has been a little inactive since the turn of 2008, but he has moved up a weight division and the fight with Wlad took an age for them to agree terms.

He needs to fight soon though.
