Even though a corked bat really doesn't help a hitter?

yup. it takes something away somehow. still chico had to go back from two kds. it's like melo hitting the dagger 3 against dallas after 2 fouls by a dallas player werent called.

the fouls should have been called yes, but melo still had to drain the shot.

I'm assuming you know something about corked bats I don't but I'd imagine it's illegal for a reason.

If you don't like that analogy, pick another... a no hitter thrown by a pitcher doctoring the ball.

Yea the bat thing was a bad example

As for Chico. He spit his mouthpiece out and was penalized by boxing rules.

He was within the rules per say.

The ref could not let Corrales fight without a mouth piece after a knock down, even if it was done intentionally. He could have disqulaified Diego, but he did not. He took a point, he could have taken two points. It would not have mattered though because Corrales Ko'd Castillo. Castillo should have never got caught by Corrales after those two knock downs. He let his gaurd down mentally and got caught. The ref stopped it properly in my opinion. Castillo hands were down and he was no longer defending himself. Since castillo was stuck on the ropes he could not go down to get an eight count. It was just a beautiful comeback by Diego. that's it.

What are you talking about the stoppage was perfect. If he wouldve waited for Corrales to throw one more punch JLC might be dead. He was a rag doll.

Tell me where in the rules it says that if you get KO's you can spit out your mouthpiece to get an extra minute to recover. It isn't about what Chico did it's about how the ref messed up. Castillo scored a KO. he knocked his opponent down hurting him to the point where he was unable to continue at the count of 10.

If a fighter does so intentionally he will be penalized.

Corrales was penalized, was he not?

Forget about the mouth piece. He was unable to continue at the count of 10. Fight's over.

im very surprised that castillo's corner didnt make a big fuss after the stoppage (as far as debating the mouthpiece), so seeing that they didnt makes me think that the mouthpiece issue did not bother them. **** had castillo went down he might have done the same thing.

You have to be up and ready to fight not just up. That's pretty clear in the rules.
