Antonio Margarito Returning to the WBC rankings.

Jeff, mate, why? Remember Collins-Resto? We're incredibly fortunate not to be talking about someone receiving life-threatening injuries here, IMO. He didn't just cheat- he attempted (and for all we know may have done so before) to inflict damage onto another person with a deadly weapon. He's a disgrace to the sport.

I'd like to see him get beat down by Cotto in a rematch. Mosely already showed the blueprint; hammer the body early in the fight and take the head later. In their first encounter, Cotto seemed to abandon his usual body attack and looked to stop Margo with only head shots. Probably because he could land at will to the head, but had he used Mosley's strategy and Margo didn't have loaded gloves, I think the result of that contest may have been different.

Im not even Puerto Rican or that big of a fan of Trinidad or Cotto. What annoys me the most are the Margarito nuthuggers that try to claim racism against Mexicans or want him reinstated earlier.

I have no problem with him coming back after his year suspension and all would be forgiven I'm sure by most actual boxing fans. He'll still probably carry a bad rep until he rematches Cotto and has the same result.

As far as Tito goes, it wasnt as high profile as Margarito. Reason being, and although it may have the same effect, when people hear loaded gloves they tend to think of it as a much worse offense then hands being wrapped illegally. Not saying it is, but thats how some people automatically view it.

Also, HBO is the ****ing worst at bringing this up at any welterweight fight. Which means Margarito is probably gonna have to go to showtime. I would like to see Max Kellerman and him in the ring together.

What novice fans like you fail to understand is that Margo wasn't that good to begin with he was limited as all get out and anyone who wasn't a blind nuthugger with an eye for boxing talent could see it.:deal He was a hype job blown up by Arum and his fans to epic proportions and as soon as he faced a guy who wouldn't fold or he couldn't use his cement blocks against he was destroyed and made to look less than average. Hell Mosley looked like the the second coming of Pea Whitaker on defense because you can see Margo's wide looping shots 100 miles away.:deal

 

Of course he will look like Ray Robinson, hell Cotto looked like Leonard early against Margarito. How many up and comers look like Tyson KO'ing tomato can quality fighters?, you put someone like Mosley in there against a guy with zero skills and defense like Margarito and of course he will look like Robinson. He will also look like Ali, Tyson, Leonard, Hagler and everyone combined.
