I think the general public already are interested, it's just TV networks and the media that that seem to view it as the black sheep of sports to be honest. I mean Hatton last year got 60,000 buns in seats fighting someone no casual fan evr heard of..... name any other sports star that can do that from th UK?

David Beckham comes to mind mate.He drawed that many just to watch him do a training session in Tokyo.:mad:

I just wish that the TV companies would start to pick up on the boxing and get it back to the Eubank.Benn,Watson,Collins and Hamed days!! We have so many fantastic domestic fights to be made at every single weight so British Boxing should be booming instead of struggling to get on TV!!

The sooner we get the pubs back behind boxing instead of screening some stupid spanish football match that no one cares about the better!! I feel prizefighter is doing that to be honest!! I can see a load of guys in the ale house enjoying prizefighter to be fair, If that's what it takes to get the average man to tune in again then so be it.

Hatton is a one off in boxing terms, Well on this side of the Atlantic he is anyway..I can't remember any British boxer from any generation that can demand audiences like Rick can... He was just in the right time at the place and was marketed the best promoter and business man this country has ever seen!!

Let's just hope Amir comes good on the 18th cos let me say this, British Boxing needs Amir Khan!! And we need Amir to win that world title and give us a little lift after recent setbacks!! Hatton,Haye,Calzaghe:scaredas:

We now desperately need backing from the likes of ITV and BBC!! :good

OK Beckham had sixty thousand fans from Japan watch him train, they're wierd over there anyway, but Haye got seventy thoasand people to come and watch him just for wearing a T-shirt! (which by the way I'm not that botherd about being scrapped, as he'll fight Vitali on September 12th instead I reckon) Beckham wouldn't have that attention in this country anyway, which is the point I was trying to make anyway. Calzaghe got about the same amount as Hatton did when he fought Kessler too.... plus when Khan fought Earl on ITV at 11 O'clock at night it genertated only a million less than the UEFA cup final at prime time.... also talk of Pacquiao vs Mayweather at Wembley would probably be a sell out! that's 100,000 people!!! I can't think of two foreign sports starts competing against each other generating anything close to the amount of hype they would create over here!

In my opinion Boxing is the second most popular sport in the country after football, but lets face it the BBC are pompas pricks!.... ITV ain't much better either and can't understand why they ignore public demand? The media just ignore it to a large extent too? When Froch fought Pascal people were coming up to me who stopped following Boxing properly for years and was raving about it weeks after it happened!

Your right it needs to be sorted, but it just needs to be predented to the fans by the powes that be and it really would sort it all out!!!

**** it! I'm sending an Email to the BBC right now!!!:bbb

Your the real Tony Bellew I take it? How is your career going so far? I remember watching you a few times as an amatuer being hyped up by Bunce on the BBC (God bless him.... Ha ha!) Ain't really alot about you recently.

Maybe I'm imganing this, but wasn't you on the Calzaghe-Kessler undercard? I was there that night but can't remember much as I was pissed as fart that night!

I saw Tony on the Rogie undercard and he destroyed Ellis and stopped him in round 4, and very nearly ended in round 3 from what I recall.
