I think Chambers will outbox Povetkin and beat him by UD or TKO next tine. Povetkin's left eye was close to being closed in the first match, had Chambers had a higher workrate he would of beaten Povetkin. Chambers learned his lesson from the last fight and would be much busier against Povetkin, and lets not forget Povetkin doesn't hit really hard either.
Chambers, was cleary dominating the early rounds-he just faded out mentally and completely went MIA for whatever reason. Povetekin, whether it was the Chambers fight or the Estrada fight or just through out his career has been there to hit. And unknown is that he is not always in the best shape-a few times Povetkin has hit the "rictor" scale coming over 250+. Even against Estrada he looked out of shape. I think focused and determined Chambers could certainly beat him.
I think it's a toss-up, but I favor Povetkin to win on points again. I read somewhere that he had the flu and wasn't at his best either. Povetkin's pressure, chin, workrate, and my confidence that he'd be throwing more punches down the stretch make me side with him in the rematch. If Chambers won, I wouldn't be at all surprised.
I agree...I was watching the fight wondering why Eddie seemed so lost and disinterested. He'd win convincingly in a rematch, I think.
nobody stops throwing punches and stands there and gets hit because it's fun. povetkin just utilized a good one-two that, even if it didn't hit chambers right on in the early rounds, was thrown with enough force to push him back, which is not to forget about the body punches and tail end counter hooks. i think povetkin would beat chambers in a rematch.
I don't think Povetkin is skilled as some people think, he had a great amatuer career because he was an amatuer for like 15 years, then turned pro at AGE 26. He's overrated.
Povetkin is not a harder puncher, I don't see how Povetkin's punches can push Chambers back. Chambers just gassed out and couldn't keep up with Povetkin's pressure due to Chambers passive style. He show against Dimirenko though that he's not that passive. I think a different Chambers will show up and beat Povetkin next time.
very true and very good post. chambers doesnt have massive k o power but focused as he was against dimetrenko it was a beating and povetkin would get the same. sascha and povetkin would probably be an evenly matched bout. what i dont get although is how one judge said it was 113-113 draw against dimetrenko????
