Craig McEwan-Unbeaten but still a loser?

McEwan is a LMW so whats all the talk of Pavlik

 

He's a middleweight as it stands. He hasn't got anywhere near making 154lbs.

 

ah i thought he was a LMW, have heard he aint the best eater though

 

I know there was talk of him fighting Angulo at 154lbs, perhaps it is the aim when they move for title shots...but you'd think if they were going to fight at 154 they would get closer to the weight one of these times so they know how his body reacts. 5/6lbs is a lot extra to lose.

 

when i have spoke to him or Grendal they have said LMW. And we spoke about Kirkland and Angulo.

 

I agree with most of what you say. Sky commentators will talk up a mediocre fighter till the cows come home on Friday Fight Night but rip to shreds any other boxer who is not a Sky Sports fighter. They did the same a few weeks ago when Lee fought Fedotovs, granted Lee was not impressive, but if that had been some no hoper fighter for the British or Commonwealth belt, they would be blowing smoke up his ass like no ones business.

McEwan was not that impressive, but like you said, he won the fight clearly, is doing things the hard way and deserves a bit of support.

ITS ALSO REPORTED THAT CRAIG HAD A FRACTURED HAND DURING THE BUILD UP TO THE FIGHT. - FROM WHAT I SAW HE SEEMED TO BE LISTENING TO THE CORNER, FREDDIE PREFERRED HIM TO BE FIGHTING ORTHADOX AS HE WAS LANDING BETTER WITH THE OVER HAND RIGHT.

HE REMAINED PATIENT, CALM AND RELAXED.. THERE WAS NEVER A MOMENT WHERE IT LOOKED LIKE HE WAS IN TROUBLE..

IM NOT SAYING CRAIG IS NEXT IN LINE TO CHALLENGE FOR THE POUND 4 POUND KING POSITION.. BUT FOR THIS STAGE OF HIS CAREER, IT WAS A NICE TEST OF CHARACTER, HE DIDN'T GET OVERWHELMED.. HE DISPLAYED SMART BOXING, SWITCH HITTING, AND GOOD ALL ROUND ENTERTAINMENT.

HIS OPPONENT HAD ONLY EVER BEEN STOPPED ONCE.. AND MIXED IN ALOT OF GOOD COMPANY.

CRAIG McEWAN - WELL DONE! GOOD PERFORMANCE... PLENTY OF FANS TO BACK HIM UP TOO.. WHEN HE DOES COME HOME TO WIPE THE FLOOR WITH DARREN BARKER WE WILL FILL THE O2 ARENA WITH TARTAN ARMY FOOT SOLDIERS CHEERING HIM ON TO AN EASY VICTORY.

YES.. EASY - BARKER HASN'T GOT ENOUGH FOR CRAIG.. ANOTHER PROTECTED FIGHTER WHOS GONNA GET FOUND OUT,

 

craig is goin in the right direction and you have to admire the dedication and commitment he has shown to the game to give up all the creature comforts of home and his family and move to the states to achieve his goal however it is simply to early to call how succesful he will a domestic fight against the likes of barker would give us a good idea but it simply wont happen roach quiet clearly rates him and appears to have a path mapped out for him in the states and roach knows more about boxing than all of us put together.

 

there are some good opnions ,we all know my opnion on watt.unfortunatly the guy wnt change will he ,i think he is overcritical of scottish fighters as he dosent want pople think hes being biased to the scottish fighter

craig was carrying an injury goign nto this figth,so it will have an effect on his performace,i think he would agree it wasent his best performance but were entitled to an off fight.

he will be world champion ,he has all the right credentials out the ring to make it happen,and he is coming along well enough in the ring .He will be fighting at light middleweight aswell ,as he can make it quite easy and roach thinks he will be more powerful enough at this weight.
