Did it ever occur to you that Povetkin may not have been at his best either in that fight? Or do you only allow American fighters to have off nights?

Povetkin was ill before the Chambers fight, he'd do a lot better healthy, but also Chambers would do better, so in the end, the result would be the same with two "improved" fighters. Povetkin's workrate is too much 10 times out of 10 for Fast Eddie.

But don't forget: Povetkin is just getting his first pro advices from Teddy Atlas, so far he more or less brought his amateur game to the pro ranks. I think there's a lot of room for improvement. Sacha is all bad for Chambers.

I tend to favor Chambers in a rematch. Yesterday he was much better as in the Povetkin-fight, especially his workrate and his stamina. The lower weight is doing him very good. As for Povetkin being ill before the Chambers-fight, i doubt it. It was an excuse, as he did look bad - amateurish - in the first 4 rounds. I didn´t see him being better in his next fight against Estrada. He´s a busy fighter with good stamina, but skillwise he can´t compete with Eddie, eventhough he had a huge amateur background. He is just not that talented as Eddie is.

Chambers would probably win, the only thing Povetkin has going for him is his great workrate. Everything else is slightly above average at best.

This is getting kind of annoying.
I'm american (lovely Milwaukee, WI).... but this is bs.
Povetkin didn't win because he won, but only because Chambers lost? You're kidding me, right?
It wasn't simply that Chambers got winded... Povetkin started finding him after the 4th. Povetkin adapted and won the fight. **** this "Chambers just wasn't in shape".

    Quit making these excuses.

It's funny how big this win is becoming. If I remember correctly many fight fans weren't too impressed with Dimitrenko's win over Luan K. Same with many of his other fights. When someone on here would try talking about how good he was, insults would start filling in about how exaggerated his worth as a top heavy is. So Chambers beats him and now Dimitrenko is not only the litmus test for how Chambers would do in a fight against Povetkin.... but the Klitschkos as well?
    Some of you are delusional.

I think that they have both seen better nights than when they fought against each other. Both are top notch Heavyweights, and a rematch would be a great one.

No, Povetkin still does him on workrate.

What these clowns seem to forget is that Povetkins work-rate does tend to have an adverse effect on his opponents stamina in the later stages.

Povetkin beat him easily and he was ill. Just as good excuse as Chambers being "out of shape" or "not performing at his best".

I see no reason why we'd see a different outcome.

Yep. Chambers could beat Povetkin. He was not active enough in the first fight. Still manage to get 4 or 5 rounds if i recall.

Chambers is in danger of becoming just a tad overated. He did well in the early rounds of their first fight but Povetkin is a notoriously slow starter. From what i remember after a couple of rounds of that fight Povetkin started to work him out and time Chambers better and once he stepped in landing his own combinations Chambers didnt want to know and fell back into conservative mode which allowed him to last the distance.Had Chambers continued fighting aggressively its possible Povetkin would have stopped him.I would give a big edge to Alexander in the rematch due to his superior strength power and aggresivness not to mention his conditioning and accurate combination punching which is amongst the best in the division.
