Someone with a good jab, Head movement and speed. A person with SKILLS! Who is able to fight on the inside and who has the ability to avoid Wald's very good Jab.
agreed. in and out VERY quickly, lateral movement, constant headmovement, show him all kinds of angles and do NOT stand in front of him, ever. odds off a current hw pulling this off....slim to none.
Cast iron jaw and hands made out of stone. Go in with guns blazing. Someone who is willing to trade 2 jabs for 1 bomb.
nah i think it can be done (actually boxing him with skill). its just EXTREMELY tuff to throw him off his gameplan and rythym. for everyone that likes to ***** about how hes boring, thats just it...he doesnt veer or do anything stupid ever anymore. itll take s-1 frustrating him for like 5 rounds in a row before he changes anything, and i think u do that with movement and avoid getting ur head taken off. trading shots with him is NOT the answer unless u like sleeping.
Wlad is a very good fighter, but his chin is a major liability. Without this liability, he would be close to unbeatable. Anyway... 1)You need to press the fight, utilize head movement, get inside and stay there, and throw combinations. 2)Use the ring, make him miss with his jab, and counter. Make yourself a small target. 3)Be just as big and just as fast with a better chin. The only guys out there that I think can beat Wlad are Haye and Vitali. Given Wlad's chin defeciency though and his past performances, I wouldn't completely rule out Arreola.
I don't agree with the in and out though. I think you need to stay in and force Wlad to move. His inside game leaves a lot to be desired. I do agree with what you said about there not being a heavyweight out there at this time that I KNOW of that can utilize this and pull it off effectively.
Relentless pressure with a good chin and good power and some good athleticism. Combination punching would help a lot too.
I think ferocity would be a big part of any fight plan against Wlad. He fights scared and if you can somehow get past his jab and force him onto the back foot you can make him really uncormfortable
yeah ideally inside is the way to go, but to constantly get inside, u risk getting caught on the way in, so dart in and out to avoid any chance of that so u dont get predictable (bad exmaple of strategy, but brewster just came straight forward in the 2nd fight, byrd too). as much as it pains me to say, id when i look at it objectively, haye comes the closest to having the required skills. just dont know that his chin can take a real hw (let alone the hardest hitting one on the planet)
The 3 keys to beating Wlad our this, 1. Chin - 2 out of 3 fighters that beat Wlad had a strong chin and knew they had to take 3 or 4 bombs to throw one of their own. Power - All 3 had it and used to beat Wlad when he was tired or never seen it coming. 3. Must be aggressive, Wlad never reacts well to this, even to this day we see him look to want to panic when his oppenents on the attack. Here are the 4 oppenents that gave Wlad the most trouble. TOS, Brewster, Sanders, Peter. All 4 made it a fight instead of a boxing match, something so few oppenents our willing to today out of fear. All 4 floored him, made him panic, and forced him out of his comfort zone. In none of these fights did Wlad look dominate, and if anything proved if you can make tough for Wlad, he will panic and look fragile.
