has been said before but wlad has CONSISTENTLY fought the best competition. ranking isn't based on what if but actual performance. vitali has done well since his comeback but not nearly enough to make up lost ground

Vitali "was" the Ring Champion, but he had to retire due to injuries. Vitali did not lose his title, he gave it up to keep from holding up the heavyweight division, then came back and won the WBC title again. Vitali is fantastic, Vlad deserves the Ring Title now because of Vitali's layoff, but Vitali did not lose his title.

Wlad should be nice to his brother and make him co-owner of the Ring belt considering he never actually lost it. :yep

I wish Vitali had not lose several years due to his injuries. Vitali used to fight boxing fight and kickboxing fight at the same time. He was six time world superweight kickboxing champion both pro and amateur. This experience gave Vitali a huge edge in right with two styles, notice that Vitali does not fight two fights the same.

So what would happen if Lewis returned would he then be champion?
    How about Rocky Marciano?
    Joe Louis?
    Gene Tunney?

No. Wladimir broke Sam Peter in 2005.

After this fight Samuel Peter was never be the same aggressive fighter he was before the fight.

Vitali fought a slow version and non aggressive Samuel Peter in 2008.

Vk retire, if you retire, you lose claim as champ. Not come back a few years and say look I back, give me the belt. Wlad is the champ imo.

As said if Lewis return, that would not MAKE him champ. He would have to fight Wlad for the title.

Wlad deserves it more. He's been out there fighting on and rebuilding his reputation while Vitali was away. Vitali strolled back into an automatic title shot, that certainly doesn't mean he should do the same with the Ring belt.

Wlad would not have beaten his brother 5 years ago but now he does as VK is older, slower, more fragile. Did you see how much he struggled with Gomez - WK would have murdered him...

We dont really know how good WK really is at the moment as there has not been anyone around to extend him.

Haye may well beat VK, setting up a fight with the 'fragile' Wlad, who beats him.....
