If Mayweather had lost his first fight with Castillo....

Nope, he'd be exactly the same.

Why?

Think how it is for a young kid to lose out on a final in the Olympics. I think he brushes it over as an unfortunate injury sustained. He comes back and beats Castillio same way.

 

He should have lost it, and yes I believe it would've made him a greater fighter. Without the zero to protect, he might've chased fights with Tszyu, Mosley, Williams, Cotto and Margarito and not have been so concerned with his record.

he did fight with a torn rotator cuff and still beat castillo then he gave an immediate rematch and dominated castillo. i dont know how you can say that he hasnt challenged himself when he won titles in 3 different wieght classes in less than 2 years. he beat the **** out of gatti in june of 2005. then he beat the last 2 linear champs at 147 then gave oscar every advantage possible in may of 2007 and still beat the **** out of him despite the judge who clearly was bought off (how can a man be hit 85 x more than he hit his opponent and win?) then he knocked out an unbeaten lineal champ 140 lb champ in his next fight. what you have to realize is that he is a very disciplined and gifted fighter and whether you like his "attitude" or not dont confuse dominating opponents in the ring with cherry picking. when he fights and beats marquez, paq, cotto, mosely and who ever the 5th victim is dont make exuses. just give credit

 

The haters will say a prime castillo beats a prime pbf 10 out of 10 times and that fight proved it.
