These are two very good fighters and Haye chose not to fight them.

He beat the champion in Mormeck and wanted to move to heavyweight. The fight with Enzo Mac was mainly because of the demand for it in the UK.

Because Haye's plan was to be 'The Man' at cruiser and move up to HW. He achieved this by beating Mormeck and wasn't even going to face Macca. However, it was a big domestic fight and Frank Warren offered him a career high purse thinking Haye was drained at CW. It was also a big fight in Britain.

Yeah but Mormeck is not as good as Adamek or Cunningham.

Would it have been nice for Haye to stay and fight those two? Sure, but what he's trying to accomplish at heavyweight is just as laudable.

:patsch But Mormeck was linear, Ring, WBA/WBC champion at the time. Adamek was not even a major player at CW then.

Cunningham was the top cruiserweight at the time regardless of the fact that Mormeck had two belts. Mormeck was spent after the wars with Bell.

Also, Adamek didn't beat Bell, which really established him at cruiserweight, until 4/19/08. Haye fought Maccarinelli on 3/8/08. A Cunningham fight would have been nice, but Steve can't draw flies to ****.

Cunningham was a ****ing nobody at the time. He was having to go to Europe for fights. Are you actually suggesting that Haye ducked Cunningham?

He couldn't make the weight without feeling drained anymore.

Cunningham only started calling out Haye waaaay after Haye announced his plan to move up btw.

Personally I cant see Haye having trouble knocking out either cunningham or adamek.

Let's remember feather fisted dawson knocked adamek on his arse.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    Learn your stuff you spoon.

Cunningham was an absolute NOBODY who had picked up one of undisputed champion Bells' titles after he was stripped.

Bell was still linear, undisputed etc. Mormeck beats him, gains all that, Haye does likewise. Its easy in retrospect to say he was spent after theBell fights, that hardly made Cunningham who had beaten nobody the 'man'.

Mormeck was about as clear the number 1 in the division can possibly be. Linear, undisputed, just beat the recognised no.1 for that stuff.

Great post. Says it all. Hindsight is a GREAT thing. All about the facts and how it was a the time. David had nothing else to prove at Cruiser. End of.

In what piece of propaganda did you hear this? It was Adamek who knocked Dawson on his ass.

Adamek's chin and power and Haye's chin explain most of how this fight would go.

But yeah, Haye did not duck Adamek because their timelines just didnt match. Cunningham is a different story. He could have face Steve to erase all doubt.
