'Thunder' was not one of the greatest fighters of all time, but what he did possess, and what was recognised by his peers and fans alike, was an implaccable will and desire to give it 100% in the ring. No need for trash talk, he just went about his business quietly and win, lose or draw, you knew that he left nothing behind when and if the final bell tolled. He was as courageous in defeat as he was in victory, going out on his shield on several occasions, and featured in arguably the most brutal and talked about trilogy of bouts in the modern boxing game. To weather such wars, yet to die before even reaching his 40th birthday seems incredibly cruel. For what Arturo gave in the ring merited a long and prosperous retirement. R . I . 'Thunder's addition to the BHOF was never in doubt. It's just a tragedy that his induction will now be posthumous.
Definitely loved by me, what a warrior!!! Joins Chico Corrales and Alexis Arguello in the Champion hall of the Hereafter. R.I.P. trully sad...
