Who were you rooting for and why prior to the fight? If they would have remained standing Brock would have started getting clipped and wore down and tired .
Possibly, but that's why Lesnar was hell bent on getting it to the ground. He's massive with great wrestling skill. And I was rooting for Mir going into the fight, but didn't have much faith that he'd pull it off. I figured Lesnar wouldn't get careless like he did the first time around.
Lesnar shouldve taken a chance and fought some standing up. Showing us different aspects to the sport
He didn't want to risk loosing the fight, Mir would have gotten the better of him on stand up from what we saw, it comes down to experience. Brock's experience is in wrestling, not striking.
I thought Brock would have took him in stand up before the fight but during it Mir was the one that was on top until he tried that flying knee :-(
In a street fight Mir would have probably gauged him in the eye when he came in. This does not mean Brock is better than Mir.
Mir really didn't do much standing up either. Brock slipped like 4 or 5 of Mir's punches in a row, before Mir tried the knees. I think that if they remained standing... Brock would have knocked Mir out with a right hand. I would like to see Mir rematch Vera.
I was favouring Lesnar almost 100% for this fight. Mir won the first fight by taking advantage of an MMR rookie mistake. All credit to him for that. But I just couldn't see if going the same way. As far as I saw, Lesnar didn't really try to use any of his skills. He wanted was a win - and he wanted to hit Mir - a lot. There was no interest in being creative. Frankly, Mir goaded him into that kind of fight. He took the mick, and so Lesnar came in for revenge. This time round, I think Mir lost from the first bell. He looked very intimidated, and from their movement round the cage, he looked like a cat looking to try and scare off a mastiff by scratching his face. Not effective at all. That said, Lesnar made a big mistake letting him up in the second round. Mir's second knee shocked Lesnar. From then, Lesnar had Mir in a dominant position and just enjoyed himself getting rid of some angst. I'm a little disappointed about the negative press about Lesnar as a fighter. He's undoubtedly talented, but he also a very agile super-heavy. And now he's 4-1 - and all bar one of those fights against seriously skilled opposition. He's come into UFC and he's not been warmed up on easier opposition to get him ready. All credit to him and will be interested to see how many wins he gets before he meets his match. All told, a very dominant fight, and I can't see many capable of taking him on.
maybe not at dominos knuckhead but in street fight it would be Mir's head against the concrete curb pull ur head outta ur arse huckleberry
