Well, of course, I agree - having a solid chin is an essential element of being a top fighter, in most cases. But Richardson has a point - USUALLY having a shaky chin inhibits a fighter from having much success, particularly at HW. You could make a case that guys like Wald, or Lewis for that matter, are GREATER precisely because they overcame this disability.

Wladimir won olympic gold at the amateurs and he becomes world champion in 2000. Lost the title in 2003, get the IBF back in 2006, the WBO in 2008 and have 14 sucsessful world title fights, four mandatory fights and fighting two other world champions. This speaks for itself.

 

Yeah but its hard to get that through the hard heads of some posters who cant accept the fact that some of their favorite boxers were mortal and had flaws... Hell look at Joe Lewis with his whiskers going down against people weighing 180-190 lbs he probably couldnt take a punch from a full sized heavy today... and its hard for people to accept....:deal

 

Nazim Richardson is a wierd guy. He says negative comments disguised in a complement. Basically he's putting down Wladimir saying he has no chin. Do you really think Nazin ACTUALLY thinks Wladimir is better than ALI. Of course not. It's a wierd put down.

Just as his last compliment about Pac was a negative comment:
"All of these guys underestimate Pacquiao thinking he's the small man. When I met Pacquiao, I wasn't saying how does this guy make welterweight? I was saying how in the hell was he making 130 and 135?"

This is basically a put down on Pacquaio saying that he's not that small AND HE SHOULD be fighting the big guys and not asking Cotto to shed weight.

As I said Nazim Richardson is a strange guy.

 

I'm still not sure why everyone thinks his chin is soo bad. I think his chin is way under-rated. You don't take bombs from Sanders (who was the first guy ever to KD and stop Al Cole, who was known to have a good beard) and get up 4 times if you have no chin. You get iced by the first one and get counted out. Brewster hit him with a hook that nearly spun his head around and he wasn't knocked cold by it. His supposed lack of chin is grossly exagerated by all the hateful morons on this board who don't know anything about boxing. YOU CAN'T SAY A GUY HAS A GLASS JAW WHEN HE'S NEVER BEEN COUNTED OUT!

 

but those guys didnt get koed 3 times, by three different men during their primes, although, wlad has since gone on a run.

 

Nazim Richardson is not a bull shitter he is not going to elicit praise for a fighter if he does not believe what he is saying. Both Klitschko's keep winning fights barely losing a round before knocking their opponent out yet we still have people on here that say "they can't fight" "they do not have any skills" "they are winning just because they are big" etc.

If you can't see the improvements Wlad has made since the first Brewster fight you are blind. The guy looks like a totally different fighter. I am willing to bet the Klitschko's combined have not lost 5 rounds total in the last 5 years. I read an article on yahoo sports by Kevin Iole where he said in Wlad's last 6 fights he had won something like 96% of all rounds scored by the judges. That is an incredible statistic.

but i see your point and can understand it. but the biggest difference is that we All know that Wlad will fold when pressured and wait for it to happen Again, unlike prime RJJ when everybody thought he was a unbeatable superman. that's why they cant be compared..
