You said you won't be impressed until he beats decent fighters; he has 5 fights.

Name these mythical fighters that are so much better than Mir, Couture, and Herring that those 3 do not even count as "decent"

Its a simple request. You said he hasn't fought decent fighters, that means Mir, Couture, and Heath aren't decent; so name the 5 fighters that are so much better than them that exclude those guys off the "decent" list.

It is hard for some people to accept Lesnar's being where he is in such a short time. I guess it's what happens when you're a boarderline NFL quality athlete of his size, with national amateur wrestling credentials.

Lesnar has earned his title. Lesnar defeated Herring to get his fight with linear champion Randy Couture. Herring entered that fight with a win over Kongo. Mir and Nogueira were already scheduled to meet before Couture returned to the UFC. With his win over Herring, Lesnar was legitimately next in line. I really believe the UFC shouldn't have started throwing the title of Champion around like was done until after UFC 100. I don't have any problems with the way things unfolded otherwise.

I don't think many people dislike Lesnar as much as they dislike the way Dana White sling shot him to the top of the UFC heavyweight division.

I have nothing against him he is a great athlete superb wrestling, freakishly strong, and hands the size of ****ing coconuts.

But 3 fights going 2-1 and getting a title really irks me...

......wanted frank mur to win lol

Great post. I just heard he really disrespected Mir and that's not combat sports are about.

Lesnar did not earn his title shot in anyway.

Herring stinks. Hes tough, hes durable but by no means is a guy who if you beat gets a title shot. Noguiera beat him and got a title shot but Noguiera earned it through his work in Pride and being the #2 ranked HW.

And that is absolutely absurd to say Lesnar was next in line. I'm sorry man but you cant honestly believe that. Thats ridiculous.

Well, with Mir and Nogueira contraced to fight each other; who would have been ranked higher ranked than Herring in the UFC? Keep in mind Herring was coming off a win over Kongo, and Kongo had just defeated CroCop.

Lesnar's win over Herring, and the return of Couture; made the UFC's top 4 heavyweights Mir, Couture, Nogueira, and Lesnar.

Lesnar being declared champ without defeating the winner of Nog and Mir is about all that can be argued as unjust. Or you could argue Lesnar's octogoning off against the likes of Mir and Herring so soon as being a bit unfair to guys with more fights. You can't argue his placement after defeating Herring with any credible reasons.

    Spot on.

The two fighting for the interim championship were already training for each other, already filming a show together, and one of them would have had to have been royally screwed out of a title fight once Randy came back before they fought.

To fix this, they basically set up a tournament with 2 nominal belts. Mir/Nog for one, Lesnar/Couture for the other. That way nobody got screwed, nobody had to switch opponents, nobody had to miss out on their title shot. The winners then faced each other, and Brock won out.

Regardless of if you think his shot was early (so was BJ Penn's, so was Sean Sherk's in terms of fights in the division) the results justify it.

Obviously he was ready for a title shot if he can win 2 of them in devestating fashion.

If he was able to beat Mir and Couture than there is no reason for him to have to "earn" his shot, in hindsight.

Honestly, if there was a boxer who beat a Klitschko after one fight, than he obviously deserved his shot because he was obviously good enough to win. I think Joe Silva did a good job with Lesnar, because he demonstrated the abilities to win at the highest levels and he sure did.

Jesus christ, you guys cant be serious.

Lesnar had 1-1 record in the UFC. There are far more deserving fighters... You know the ones with more than one relevant win in MMA?

And why did they have to bring Couture back in November? They didnt, but they asked Couture if he'd like to fight Lesnar and he said yes. It was the biggest money fight that could be made. It was simply a quick cash grab by the UFC. If you really cared, and wanted to do it the right way, you simply wait it out for more deserving opponents. But they didnt, and thats why so many MMA'ers are and were pissed off.

And him beating Couture does not mean he "earned' anything. The bottom line is he shouldnt have got that title shot anyway because he hadnt EARNED it. His MMA record was 2-1, his UFC record was 1-1 and his best win was over a tailor made mediocre fighter in Herring who is nothing more than a gatekeeper.

LOL, credit it to Joe Silva. haha. Give me a break. Joe Silva and the UFC did what they did because it filled their pockets. Its not like Brock passed the "test" and earned it.

So now we don't want the best fighters fighting each other?

Couture told them he wanted to fight and approximately when, Brock was the most logical opponent at the time.

So no, him being the dominant winner of a 4 way championship tournament doesn't prove he "deserved to enter" it clearly shows he was good enough to win, and after all, the belt is there to show who the best fighter is.

no forumz are for running away from defending your point and failing to admit that your running

people do this by creating stupid ass replies trying to SWITCH the SUBJECT and AVOID the POINT at all COSTz even when they are ALREADY AWARE of it by stating "WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH IT"

back in the old dayz the forum memberz would take this fella out back and horse whip him into naming the 5 guyz

then after he named them we'd whip him harder till daybreak

at daybreak the iron pokerz would finally be ready from sittin over nite in the fire

The only hope to beat Brock is Fedor, since Nog looks finished.
