I think the Andrade rematch is absolutely pointless, Bute clearly beat Andrade for 11 rounds and obviously beat the 10 count. I feel sorry for Andrade because it will be another beating, possibly a knock out in the process. Bute should of fought Froch instead.
I read an article that said Froch would like to fight Pascal again after the tournament and give him a chance to avenge the loss.
I suppose. I'm not hugely concerned about Dirrell to be honest. I'm not saying Dirrell hasn't got a chance, but I think it's a fairly small chance. I think this is reflected in the voting where twice as many people think Froch will beat Dirrell than vice-versa, so I'm obviously not alone in my opinion.
There is always a good chance that Froch will get knocked out or completely outbox because of his lack of skills and leaky defense, Dirrell certainly has the tools to do it.
Ok, I read the replies. Who thinks Bute is in the top six Super Middles in the world? Everyone? Yes, agreed. So you have to ask yourselves the very simple question. 'Why wasn't Bute invited'? And don't give me any of that nonense about an Andrade rematch (ON A ****NG UNDERCARD no less!!!) as that fight was only very recently agreed so there's no reason why he couldn't have fought in the tournament had he been invited to enter. It's not difficult to work out chaps!! PS I'm not a hater, I just have little respect for fighters who, having reached a certain level, prefer to stay in their comfort zone, rather than showing some bottle and testing themselves at the highest level.
There could be many reasons why Bute wasn't invited. We just don't know. One could be that they couldn't get the Canadian TV networks to play ball. Showtime was able to get all the other foreign TV networks to kick in, and if the Canadian network wasn't willing to kick in enough, then that eliminates Bute. I have no idea whether this is true or if it's the only reason, but I've heard this is what happened. Second, he did have the mandatory with Andrade come due. Andrade has been his mandatory for a long time now, so it's not something 'new'. Maybe they couldn't wait for Bute to get Andrade out of the way, and for whatever reason they didn't want to get GBP involved. Third, maybe they couldn't get cooperation from the IBF. Fourth, maybe they already had 6 fighters, and 8 was too complicated. Even if it's none of those reasons, I don't see how him not being invited supports your theory. What would support your theory would be if he was invited and turned it down.
It's too bad they didn't add Bute and Green to the mix. That would've been a great eight and the combined records of the eight would've elevated to another level. You could've had eight then four, then two and one.
I thought we previously made it really clear why Bute wasn't invited.... How many boxers fighting outta Europe ? The 3 best available, OK ! Who is the main broadcaster responsible for the tournament ? SHOWTIME ! Where's SHOWTIME's main audience ? USA Where are the other 3 boxers fighting from ? USA !! Just a simple coincidence I guess... huh buddy ?...... You gotta read between the lines MATE........ It's not USA versus Europe but yes it is a part of the reason why it's 3 from Europe and 3 from the US...Now may the best side of the Atlantic win !! That's part of the logic in the process ! Why not Pavlik in there for the US ? He already explained that the other day... Allan Green ? You got your answer that Ward, Dirrell and Taylor are considered more marketable in the States + possibly easier to deal with !! Any questions ?
its funny how the bigmeupbuteclub members keep going on about froch not being to get a uk tv deal, yet showtime wanted froch in must have done a deal with radio 5 instead...
