**Regarding the Heavyweights: who is the man...regardless?**

Wlad destroyed Brewster not because Brewster didn't show up but because he couldn't take Wlad's JAB! Wlad had Brewster thinking he'd get brain damage from just Wlad's JABS andwas beaten into surrender on his stool.

Ray Austin is over 6'1" and Wlad knocked him out under 2 rnds with just his left NEVER THROWING A RIGHT yet Austin went the distance and tied with Ibragimov.

Wlad damn near took Calvin Brock's head off dropping him like a rock.

Wlad battered Byrd bloody easily.

Nope don't see anyone beating Wlad in the next two years we shall see.

No, Wlad beat a one eyed Brewster who couldnt spar in preparation for the fight for fear of injuring his eye again, his trainer told him in the corner after rd 1 when he hadnt even been hit yet that he wouldnt let him get hit, that he would stop the fight if he gets hit, thats the level of fear and concern and the psycohlogical state they cameinto that fight with, beating Brewster at that time does not redeem or avenge Wlads loss. Brewster had been beaten and seriously injured prior to this Wlad fight, what Wlad has to do is beat Ibragamov, he is the man who beat the man who beat the man who beat brewster who beat wlad.

 

I don't see how anyone can put Peter above Chagaev, who is undefeated, has beaten Valuev and Ruiz. Peter has beaten Toney, and that's it.........................So please explain how Peter is above Chagaev.........I'll wait.....................

I wouldn't have Peter above Chagaev either, based on accomplishments. You have to give respect to the guys who have won titles.

That will change though WHEN Peter takes Maskaev's title.

Head to head is a different story as of today.

I like Chagaev's chances unlike other titlists like Ibragimov and Waldo, because he has a smaller frame and can have a really tight, responsible defense. His taking the title from the giant cannot be taken lightly. This would be a tough fight for Peter but I like his chances at pulling it out. Chagaev reminds me a lot of Eddie Chambers because he takes a backstep often and lets aggressive fighters lead. That would inevitably be a bad result against Peter.

I'd give Ibragimov zero chance at beating Peter as I think he has questionable footwork and skills while relying heavily on speed and power. Think Jeremy Williams all over again.

Waldo as you all know I feel is there for the taking. The guy simply folds when he gets hit. He had to clinch onto Sam 94-96 times over the course of 12 rounds and still suffered 3 knockdowns. His work with Stewart I feel hasn't produced much of anything except a cheap ripoff of John Ruiz. While he has alot of power and speed/technique, Sam has an extraordinary chin and a solid punch coming back. Both of which nullify any advantages Waldo may have against other opponents.

 

The only reason you got to put Peter up at 2 is because he gave Wlad a very hard time in there last fight 2 years ago, both fighters have grown since then now anything could happen.

 

Wlad will retire without losing again. Mark it down....

If he retires before facing Povetkin. Mark it down

 

Wlad will knock Povetkin out in less than 8 rounds.

Brock actually did pretty good early against Wlad, Brewster tried but he had **** to offer against an opponent who wasn't falling asleep this time.

 

The division isn't weak just because none of your favorites are near the top. The HW's have a lot of interesting matchups and the depth chart is very deep. Wlad still has many good challenges left including some younger fighters such as Povetkin, Solis & maybe even Haye. Some of the older fighters like Tua or McCall could still grab a belt. Who knows, maybe Hopkins or Jones Jr. want to retire on their backs!

 

We agree once again. Chagaev & Maskaev should be ranked above Peter until/if he wins a belt. Then maybe one could justify putting him above guys who've already claimed their belts. It common ****in' sense.
