The IBF belt is only worthwhile if you don't have the conviction to test yourself against the very best. What's more attractive? Fulfulling one mandatory, or between 3-5 fights in the super tournament against the best 168ers in the world?
laughable - "froch doesn't have andrade's tools and workrate" andrade - as touhg as he is - doesn't really have any tools. froch did use a power jab on pascal (a tool?) and some wicked body shots when he wasn't doing wild slugging. and his workrate was pretty damn good in the 12th round of a gruelling fight with taylor. froch has beaten 2 very slick fighters. and while he can look a bit raw, you don't beat pascal and taylor having no ability. what slick fighters has andrade beaten? as to bute, why not gun for pascal, after pascal finishes what could be a great rivalry with diaconu. there could e a great canadian round robn for the next 2 years, and this would really raise each guy's profile.
Andrade can possess qualities Froch doesn't without being better. I often says I consider Froch better than Andrade. Librado has still a better chin, better stamina and puts a lot more pressure than Froch. He does possess those qualities sufficiently to bug Bute. Froch also possess those qualities but not enough to bug Bute. He possesses other qualities which wouldn't bug Bute, IMHO.
I think it's worked out fine. Bute and Andrade have unfinished business. Let them sort it out and the winner can fight the winner of the super six.
Hey David, a appreciate you consider Bute worthy to discuss about. Means he is not anybody. Let`s take it gradually. Bute doesn`t have effective power in deciding who with and where are the bouts. Remember we talk about professionist level. So don`t blame it. HE SAID IS READY TO FIGHT FROCH IN ENGLAND AND ASSURED THE JOURNALISTS FROM US HE`S READY TO FIGHT THE AMERICAN FIGHTERS IN US.You really do not know Bute.
I don't think Lucian Bute deserves the negative criticism he receives from a lot of boxing fans...he's undefeated because he's good...he understands that his last fight was controversial and is fighting Andrade again...he could simply dump his title and elect to fight in this tournament, but he takes his obligation of his title reign seriously and knows that answering the questions surrounding the first with Andrade is first and foremost at this time...I don't see any problem with his decision making.
I assume you are kidding. The top five as SMW per The Ring is: 1. Kessler 2. Bute 3. Froch 4. Andrade 5. Bika Guess who's the only one to beat two out of those five? Right, Bute. Now, you can think whatever you'd like of Bute as a fighter, but saying that he's shied away from anyone is ridiculous.
Nice commentary on THE RING's top 5 and Bute having beaten two of them. The point, methinks, is this: Bute made a costly mistake against Andrade in Round 12; he now understands that he needs to prove it was an anomaly, and not a proper assessment of his skills, by rematching the man who has come closest to beating him. Speaking as a boxer, it is supremely difficult to go forward in one's career when one is still having doubts about a previous performance. Bute's equation stands as such: he wants to prove, to himself as much as anyone else, that he can beat Andrade quite comprehensively and without mishaps before going on to unify titles and/or fighting Pavlik or some-such. So he's taking care of business at its proper time. Yes - Bute is a flawed fighter. This does not mean that he is unskilled or slow or suffers from a chronic lack of determination. He is, after all, still world champ, still undefeated. This shows he is a more accomplished human being than any of us on these forums. Who are we to ***** about him? To diss someone based on their boxing endeavors is one thing. To make personal comments pertaining to cowardice is off-limits. I challenge those calling Bute a coward to go off, outpoint Bika, KO Berrio, Joppy and Zuniga, and fight someone like Andrade for eleven and a half rounds. If you come out of it alive, then you have the right to rip into Bute. Ready? GO!
