Froch vs Dirrell = Lacy vs Calzaghe

i agree dirrell is very green and although he may have the skill set to eventually beat froch, he may or may not be able to do it now...

but are you comparing froch to calzaghe??? b/c lacy was completely outclassed by joe whereas i don't see froch "outclassing" dirrell...he maybe able to weather everything dirrell has and stop him ala the jt fight...

 

I think Froch should be favored over Direll, but why is it that British posters always call any American prospect a "hypejob" like Jeff Lacy.

Lets not forget many Brits even thought Lacy was going to beat Calzaghe.

 

No chance itll be the same! Calslappy won every round and dominated every minute of that fight. Froch will probably be even or down on the cards at the point he MIGHT stop Dirrell

 

you can't compare a fast handed boxer/puncher like dirrell with a plodder like lacy.....apples and oranges

Froch might win, but it's stupid to compare it to Lacy-Calzaghe.

And i've seen every televised Dirrell fight, when was he ever seriously hurt?

Dude dont be silly, that's just laughable. Dirrell is 10 times more skilled than Jeff Lacy will ever be, Jeff Lacy was just a power house who met somebody who could show him angles and he did not know what to do once he saw that there was no target to hit.

Dirrell on the other hand is going to make Froch look completely stupid in the ring. Froch is slow and he holds his hands by his waist. Dirrell is light years quicker than both Taylor and Pascal and he is much more accurate as well.

You need to shift your emphasis away from power and look at skill.
Froch' best weapon is his jab and his sweeping uppercut along with his chin and his grit and determination and his stamina in the championship rounds.

Dirrell's skills are, Switch hitting, he can fight from either stance and throw good with both hands, he is laser fast and accurate, he has great lateral movement. He can hit you with punches from different angles, he however has not gone 12 rounds before but I really do not see this becoming a factor unless Froch somehow catches him which is highly unlikely

Froch is basically fighting a better version of Taylor that will be hitting him probably even more than Taylor did. If Froch gets stunned and drop like he did in the 3rd round against Taylor Dirrell will finish him.

Froch deserves the credit he is getting but if it wasn't for Taylor's inefficiency to fight to the finish he would of won the fight so Froch got a lucky escape and a dramatic win but he will be embarressed in his own hometown come October.

His limitations will be exploited in this fight and Dirrell will look 10 times faster than him and will be landing at will

Have you not heard either that Dirrell was putting a whooping down on Chad Dawson in sparring when Chad used to have Floyd Senior as his trainer, this guy is not someone you take lightly.

Dirrell is going to put a clinic on Froch. Froch is just living off of his dramatic Taylor win but This is a post Pavlik, Hopkins Taylor we are talking about. So to be honest Froch caught him at the right time and all respect to him he did the business and won in dramatic fashion but he will be a one hit wonder and will probably lose every fight he has in this tournament.

He will never be Joe Calzaghe, never lol and he will probably lose to Kessler as well which would make it worse seeing as Calzaghe beat Kessler.

 

Comparing Froch to Calzaghe is like comparing Valuev to Ali. One's an unskilled, slow, hypejob with nothing but a good chin, the other is an all time great.

 

In general, people don't have as much respect for Froch as they should. 'Americans' has nothing to do with it.

If British nationalists are backing Froch just because he's a Brit that's just as stupid, no?

 

Dirrell is just as athletic as Pascal and he's definetly quite a bit quicker and sharper. Not to mention he has better defense and counter punching than Pascal. If Pascal's speed and athleticism bothered him so badly I think it goes without question that Dirrell's speed and athleticism combined with better defense will do the same and could definetly give him that extra push that Pascal needed to win. I think Froch is gonna have a real hard time getting to Dirrell.

 

If anything Dirrell will play Joe and Froch will be Lacy. there's no way in hell Froch will take Dirrell to school. he might KO him but he's not gona outbox him.
