Response from Robert Charles at Channel 5 regarding the Bunce Hour

Exactly! Are they for ****ing real, I know they gave a responce at least but the reponce was a load of ****!

How much more ratings did the Boxing hour get I wonder, than over half the **** they put on five? I know it did because the most casual of fight fans I've spoken too said they loved the show with out me even mentioning it to them! I've never known something like that before.

Why don't they at least show the late night boxing from ESPN at weekend mornings at least? I'd rather watch that than.... ???

 

Well I got my C5 reply as well and I have responded with the following (thought I would urge them to look at more live boxing, and gave a deserved shout out to Spencer promotions:

"Many thanks for taking the time to respond to my email. I understand your position and it was good of you to explain your reasoning. We hope to convince a broadcaster to pick up the Bunce Boxing Hour and have set up www.bringbackbunce.net as our campaign website. In the meantime, could you consider showing more live boxing as it is one of our top sports and no doubt will again produce more Olympic Champions at the forthcoming London Olympics. The BBC, the so-called Olympic channel, has totally abandoned boxing and it is a real shame that our top boxing amateurs and professionals do not receive the airtime that they deserve.

Finally, I would like to bring to your attention the excellent Spencer Fearon boxing shows that have recently started. I personally attended the last event in Kensington Town Hall and it featured the return of the WBU Champ, the Mongolian Warrior Choi Tseveenpurev. I can tell you that this sell-out event, with its exciting stable of champions and top prospects such as Junior Saeed, was ten times better than any of the Friday Fight Night boxing that we have seen recently on Sky this year, and the atmosphere is electric. I urge you to consider adding the Spencer Fearon promotions to your boxing coverage or come down to attend the next event yourself in September. I fly from Northern Ireland to watch it so it must be good.

Channel 5 relegate Friday Night Fights to 3 O'Clock on a Monday morning, i.e. THE WORST slot there is in TV. So he doesn't have the right to say "We're doing our bit."

Still, I can understand that they have other programmes that need the airtime, the ratings-seeking *******s.

Why doesn't he do it in Podcasts which is so simple to do?

 

Maybe ESPN Classic could use Buncey, at least they have archive boxing footage.

I think alot of people are underestimating the power of this campaign.....

I wouldnt be suprised to see it be picked up by any channel

 

what about one of the euro sports channels or even bravo..anythinks better than knowt.

 

i dont read everything on this forum so id be surprised if this hasnt been mentioned but does anyone have any figures on how many people tuned in to Bunce's show on Setanta on average (Bunce could help im sure) - then if the figures are impressive we should go back to channel 5, bbc etc and see if they reconsider

I suggest FW ****s sky off and sets up his own Boxing channel giving Buncey as much airtime as he wants.
