oscar was suppose to be a one-time shot. he is the money-man and pac would risk going-up from 135 to 147 just to earn his first 8-figures. after that, he went down again to 140 which is just about perfect size for his body and frame at his current age and stage. don't be misled that just because he beat oscar at 147, he is now a full-pledge welter. pac is a jr. welter currently.

about jmm, he is doing the same as pac. fighting floyd at a catch. why wouldn't i tell him to man-up and face floyd at 147 where floyd fought most of his previous fights? because i know that jmm is not the same size as floyd and the only way to minimize the size difference is by holding the fight at catchweight.

ifhe came in at 146 he must be pretty comfortable at the weight.another pound or two shouldnt be too difficult for him, especially with day before weigh ins.

    Great! scenario remains the same.

Cotto is bigger than Pac. Thus a catchweight.

Unless you want to witness gatti-gamachi

Cotto is fine with 145. He can handle. So be it.

cotto aint even a big welter, so all this talk about manny being too small for him is bull****....

and how can you compare jmm to manny, manny is already proven (twice) at 140 and above, jmm isn't....huge difference bro

    1lb isn't?

Why couldn't Castillo lose 1 extra pound against Corrales in their 2nd fight? If 1lb is so easy to lose. :patsch

Going up is easier than going down. Considering that Marquez is a lot closer in weight to Floyd than Cotto-Pac.

EDIT - And when have you ever seen me happy with 143 as the CW? Ever? I wish he would of fought him at 140. He should of.

If Marquez adds 4-5lbs he'll be equal in weight in to Floyd. If you dont believe Floyd is weighing in that light then you also need to factor in that he's going down 4lbs. :deal

And at 145 Cotto isn't going to magically not gain 3-5lbs come fight time because he cut 1 extra lb of water weight. Yet look at you, completely ignoring that statement.

The only thing Ive argued since day one is the only reason this fight is taking place below the WW limit is to drain Cotto.

the cynic in me really wants the fight to be non title.

as I wonder what Roach would have to say about that.

most likely though Top Rank will pay Cotto more money and he'll reconsider the whole title issue.

castillo and cotto are two different animals and so as everybody else..

there are a lot of factors why a fighter couldn't lose weight, one simple explanation if lack of discipline and of all people you should know the reasons why..:hey

Hey dude, 1lb is easy though right? Castillo was even given an extra hour to lose more weight and couldn't do it.

He was 3lbs off and couldn't even get down 1.

I thought 1lb was nothing huh?

Or Corrales who failed to make weight vs Casamayor.

I thought 1lb is so easy? :patsch
