I would like to hear what people think are the best exercises to d ofor boxing conditioning apart from jogging, I,ve been told that it s more important to train your lower body as that is what keeps you up and moving but could people give me some info on which muscles are most important to train for the upper body i.e arms chest back shoulders and which exercises would give the best results. Thanks
It seems that the basic Squats, Bench Press, Rows, Pullups/Chiups, and Overhead Press are some of the basic ones that people focus on....doing these helped me to gain strength and condition myself better
For amateur. Do your normal workout, and then in the middle hit the bag for 2min. 30secs normal, 30secs all out, 30secs normal, 30secs all out. Your stamina will go through the roof and it simulates a whole round of being tired in the ring as well as can be. Have a minute rest and repeat 3 times.
atsch hit the road [work]unless you wanna get tired while you're in the ring. distance running, Hills and sprints can not be replaced by shadow boxing, pull ups, bench presses, and all that other ****...but can be complemented
Well my trainer makes us do stations sometimes, then plyometrics while we keep our hands up. Body only sparring with everyone in the gym; and punching countdowns (That's where you go from 10 hooks 10 straights, 10 uppercuts, all the way down to 1 on the bag)
don't forget your abs and balance that out with lower back. your abs are probably the most important thing to develop. everything else is improved by well conditioned core
