Kelly Pavlik is the Middleweight Champion and he's more well known. Add to that, the fact that Paul Williams is a guy no one wants to fight... all signs point to Pavlik getting the bigger share of the money.

As a boxing fan, i must admit i'm a bit tired of those money talks.

Oh well...since Pavlik is the middleweight champion i think he, of course, deserves a bit more.

If its gonna be for Pavliks belts at 160 lbs then Pavlik should get more with 60/40. But if its gonna be a catchweight fight for P4P spots on the line (which would be bull**** cause theres no reason why they wouldnt meet at Middleweight) then I would say 50/50. I think Williams is just as good and entertaining as Pavlik but since Kelly's the champ at 160 he's risking more.

Wonder what he would have done with that card after the Hopkins fight ?

As to the thread question ?

    50 - 50 seems fair.

before you say williams deserves 40 percent of the gate, the first question is who is promoting the fight.

Pavlik of course. I don't understand how this could be an issue.

You can say a lot about Pavlik - and I do. I for example think he has become a bit of a ***** after the Hopkins scare.

But there is no doubt whatsoever that he is far more known throughout the world than Williams. If you ask people about the world who Williams is - less than 1% would have any idea. Far less in fact. Pavlik would be much much better known.

I feel Williams should get some kind of small percentage of the gate at least.. He's already taking the lower end of the pot(Which I agree with).. Give him 25 or 30%.. 0% of the gate is kind of messed up..

Wasn't David Haye's entire purse going to be the Brit TV money? All is negotiable. Going on the only number I have seen, this will be a 50% bump from Williams' best purse? And he held a belt once? The promoter is entitled to some money because he is taking the risk, booking the venue, wages, incidentals, etc....... No guarantee that this event makes money at the gate. Probably will, but it isn't guaranteed. Goosen just sits back and gets paid and wants paid for the privilege? :-(
