It is an interesting claim to say the least given that:

Arreola quit boxing at 16 and only started again at age 20, competing at LHW in the 2001 NGG amateur tournament. At that time (2001), Haye already fought at HW (201 lbs) in the World Amateur Championships. After the 2001 NGG Arreola retired from boxing for another two years before becoming a pro in 2003. Haye had his pro debut in December 2002.

I may be wrong, but I see a hard time how Haye and Arreola could have ever met in the ring as amateurs, especially given the difference in weight classes.

There is a YouTube clip where Haye was asked what he thought of Arreola and Haye answered he has "never seen him fight" but he "saw pictures of him". I guess that answers it best.

Arreola would clob Haye out of the ring he's good enough for that. Not a match for Vitali certainly. Haye is running his mouth about Arreola after Haye himself he looked terrible against Fragomeni in front of Haye's home crowd, an Italian B-Class fighter who is a midget version of Arreola.

Unthinkable what Arreola would do to Haye. Haye looks bad against tanks who plod after him relentlessly no matter what and don't allow him slowly loading up his big shots from way back. Arreola would clobber Haye until Haye drops and is unconscious.
