Whether or not he was unhappy to how his quitting would be officially recorded is trivial. When I think back to this fight, I won't remember "loss" or "NC" as much as I'll remember that Nate packed it in when the going got tough.

 

the point is fighters man up when they get cut. like barrera did agsint khan...while almost all agreed that that fight should have been a NC, barrerra fought on and did not complain about how the blood was ruining his vision

and maybe the fans are just a bit harsh on nate and i maybe guilty on this too dude...i expected him to fight (ok i wont argue like the way gatti did cause maybe that's just too much), but i expected more fight in him since he is , in the end, actually, the Galaxy WARRIOR

Once again, the people on this thread are conflating two unrelated points to come up with a conclusion that logically follows neither.

In short, the gist of this argument is: Campbell was looking for a way out and other fighters have lasted through this sort of diversity; therefore, Bradley is the winner.

Point #1: Nate Campbell was getting beat and looking for a way out. He quit on his stool. He knew he couldn't win.

This is 90% conjecture. While Bradley was having effective rounds and throwing most of the punches, nothing conclusively indicated that Campbell was so overwhelmed he needed a way out. Yes, he complained to the ref twice about the heabutts, but both cases were legitimate gripes, as proven by the replays.

Point #2: Campbell loses based on moral grounds due to his refusal to fight on when other champion fought through worse.

Grumbles against his manhood or comparisons to other fighters who fought through similar damage are both trivial and spurious: Who cares if other fighters decided to go on despite damage? This proves nothing about Nate Campbell's character especially considering that other fighters fought through damange from legitimate punches and had no choice but to go on lest they take a defeat. More importantly, none of this has any bearing on the legitimacy of the decision, which was completely wrong.

Bradley in no sense of the word deserved a victory other Campbell tonight. Not a moral victory, not a victory in the eyes of rational fans, and not a moral victory based on the perserverence of past wounded fighters who's circumstances were unanalogous to Campbel's situaton.

And one more point. The ref's contention that the punch following the headbutt caused the cut based on the fact that blood didn't start flowing until after the punch landed is a silly piece of reasoning. Bradley, most likely unitentionally, headbutted Campbell cleanly and with great impact. The appearance of blood doesn't by definition instantly occur at the moment of the headbutt. Bradley's glancing blow immediatly following the butt and the concurrent appearance of the blood doesn't prove a thing: Correlation is not causation. It takes a ****ing few seconds for blood to come. ******ed reasoning by the befuddled ref.

 

Yeah, and where did that get MAB? That was a nasty cut, he should have let the fight goto a NC, it was a dumb move on his corners part.

 

the spontaneous reaction tells me he wasn't and he was getting blurred vision, remember however little or bad a cut looks it effect people in different ways depending on the nerves it touches etc

if he was "looking for a way out" then he didn't follow the protocol of letting the ref first assess and then getting the doctor on the apron. Once the doctor comes, you start claiming that you can't see when the doc holds up two fingers, you say ELEVEN! then he would've got a easy no contest
