75" reach 6'1. Byrd 74" reach 6'0 Wlad 81" reach 6'7 but its not about reach as Alexander Dimitrienko is 6'7 83" reach, its about effectively using your advantages and Wlad is the best at it.

Dimitrenko is no Klitschko. Vlad by knockout.

If Chambers was 6'4 with an 80" reach, I would favor him against Wlad. But the size disadvantage makes it very hard for boxing fans to give Chambers even a chance to win.

I love these threads though. Nobody gives Chambers a chance and says how he's a bum. But if he does indeed beat Wlad then suddenly Chambers will show up in the Top 3 ESB HW rankings, new American hope, best boxing technician, ESB best HW chin and future HOF rankings. It's ironic isn't it.

If Chambers beats Wlad or not, he will still be as good or bad as he is pre-fight. Just perception changes.

Wlad is a skilled boxer and Wlad had Emanuel Steward who knows how to train tall fighters.

Wlad uzes his size and he has great footwork. His Jab is ATG, nothing comparable to Dimitrenko.

Eddie has neither the skill or the power to beat Wlad,Wlad is simpely on a different level.Folks truly do not realise how good Wlad is,he makes good world class heavyweights look poor.

unless im mistaken hasn't wladimir and eddie sparred together a few years ago?

i also remember seeing photos where wladimir offers a hand to help eddie up from the canvas after decking him.

if my memory is correct about this, then expect to see eddie on the canvas and out for the count when they fight.

no way eddie does better without the headgear and gloves

Sparring doesn't tell everything. Andre Dirrell gave Chad Dawson problems in sparring, doesn't mean Dirrell will beat Dawson. Evander Holyfield had problems with Gerald McCllean in sparring, doesn't mean I would favor McCllean over Holyfield.

i realise that, but it still isn't a good sign when you get decked in sparring, by your future opponent.

i mean sure it could end up meaning nothing, but with wladimir's power and smaller gloves, combined with the simple fact he was able to find the target to drop eddie means he certainly has a good chance doing so in a live fight. if eddie was a dangerous puncher then yeah sparring doesn't mean much because one punch can change a fight. but since eddie is a light punching technical fighter (the type that wladimir defeats with ease), then i see a defeat in eddie's future.

but having said that, if eddie stays in great shape he will be fun to watch against other contenders after his loss.

That's a terrible misconception about Chambers, he's a not a light puncher. He couldn't knock down a 6'7 boxer who was an obvious pain from body shots and with both eyes swelling, if he was a light puncher. When he fought Povetkin, Povetkin's left eye was almost completely shut, not to mention his face was bruised up, and that was from a low workrate. If Chambers was a light puncher Peter would of walked through his punches, but Peter was a hurt a couple times from the rights hands that Chambers landed, and his mouth was bleeding. Chambers certainly has enough power to hurt Wladimir if he lands cleanly on him.

I like Chambers. He has earned his title fight in the Ring unlike several other Heavyweights recently.

That being said I just think this is a bad style match up for Chambers and the old saying "styles make fights" comes into play here.

Klitschko is going to throw right hands right through Chambers guard all night long until he eventually gets KOed. I think it will be similar to the Brock fight but Eddie does not trouble Wlad like Brock did early.

I see Wlad winning in about 5 rounds.

    Just my opinion.

wlad is pretty fast himself, but chambers is up there with him on speed. sure, he doesnt have the power to ko wlad, but if he stays away from wlads right and counters his jab he can definitely take a decision or even a win on cuts. hell, if your going in the ring vs. a klitscko there's a very high percentage the fighters gonna get ko'd, take corrie sanders plan and just go for broke. sure, vitali got his revenge, but sanders had him in trouble the early rounds. chambers doesn't have the klits punching power, but with his speed i think he has enough to land counters or at least stay competitive with them. as long as he lets his hands go and move to his right, he has a great chance for an upset

Wlad has the power to beat Chambers by KO victory ... but he doesn't have enough skill to win by UD (which is what I feel needs to be done to beat Chambers) ...

Wlad will I feel KO Chambers early, if they ever did hook up -

    Thoughts????

    I agree 100%.

Chambers has the skills (if in shape) to give Wlad some problems...and in all likelyhood keep it relatively close, but he cant stop him or keep him honest enough to take the decision.

Well the size different is the factor here. Chambers will be not beat Wlad straight up, Chagaev and Ibragimov tried that and they failed. Chambers will have to circle to Wlad's right to avoid the right hand. If Chambers can actually land punches on Wlad, he has a very good chance to beat him, because Wlad cannot fight in the inside and does not like to trade. Chambers certainly has the power to hurt Wlad.
