It makes sense, Cotto wanted to use Pac's desire for the belt to make him fight at 147. It's all tactics.

i think it's unfair from Cotto's perspective, but justified from Pac's....

and as far as i go, as long as the fight delivers i'm Happy...plus i think the fact that it's a title match adds to the atmosphere, so i like the idea of it

Cotto only has to lose one pound extra from his last night, so it really isnt a big deal in my eyes. Also, 145 is within the WW limit.

If its ok by Cotto, its fair... its he & he only that will have to make 145, the fact that it shouldnt be a great deal harder because he made 146 in his last fight isnt the point... the fact is its still 145 & he will have to work harder regardless.

I voted fair, its certainly not ridiculous, if its over 140, its a WWT fight.... I dont see why they dont just let him come in at 147 personally, it would put an end to any excuses whether the excuses are valid or not.

That's what I think too, but anyway.

Sure. Especially when you think of Clottey's epic effort in the 12th round.

Then Cotto doesn't have to sign. To use the word "force" implies Cotto doesn't have a choice.

The fact that Pac wants 142 to 143 and he wants 145 simply shows Cotto was not being forced.

If cotto has gone on record saying that he doesnt want his belt on the line if the fight is at 145? (this is an actual question, fill me in guys I havent been watching this closely)

anyway if thats the case, and the powers that be, have said no the title will be on the line......

    well that is ....bollocks

but if Cotto is happy about his belts being on the line, fair enough

I feel WW titles should be fought with a maximum of 147lbs not with a maximum of 145lbs.

    Still a great match-up anyway.

I don't really give a **** as long as the fight happens still. Short and sweet.

Bull**** boxing politics, i guess indeed money talks bull**** walks. Although real boxing fans would've watched this fight regardless of a title being on the line. But cotto should have to defend the worthless strap if not fighting at 147lb limit.

Cotto does not like the fact that Pac is shooting for his belt at a catchweight instead of Cotto's normal weight. He feels like its a cowardice move by the PAC team but **** will get sorted in the ring.
