Kenny is one of the best fighters we ever had-he has bags of talent. But true he does suffer with confidence at times, thats according to him.He was beating former medalists no problem in home nation tournaments and then loosing in quailfiers against lesser lads!!!

I dont think he was ever going pro-i hear he turned down massive money. By all accounts he doesnt like the pro game either.

I think he could have been let down by the IABA since coming home. They should have put him wide to all the media attention-both good and bad that was due his way! Anyway the lad he lost to last week is decent its 3-3 between them now!

We shouldnt knock him and should be grateful for all he has done for the ams and boxing in Ireland

Im not knockin him im just sayin that he should of went pro and got some decent money for himself. The odds are stacked against him going back and winning a gold medal at 30 years of age. And now we have Tommy Mcarthy coming through he will make it very hard for Egan in a few years.

100% in agreement with yeah jonny.Egan might not have made it as a pro, but at least if he had turn he would have received a hefty fee for turning over. A hope he does not regret it:thumbsup

Hey lads any word on Dunne's defense? I've been checking every day to see if the venue has been confirmed and haven't heard any news. Don't want to miss out on tickets coming out, i'd say they'll be in demand.

i have never seen the same amount of interest in a fight ever...an example...i was in a bar last night...a guy i know...never even been to a amatuer show let alone a pro show...him and his 7 friends are going...not 1 has been to a pro show either...this can only be good for the sport here.

    come on big rogie

City west for the fight I thought the O2 was free all of September? It could be worst it could be in the National Boxing stadium imagine the rush for the tickets if it went there. If they cant get it in the O2 what other big venues can they put it in that will get the numbers they got for the first fight. Maybe a trip to the Odyssey Arena in Belfast could be a better option if they cant get the O2 might even be a better atmosphere than the O2.

I'd hate for Peters to get too clever with the venue. the Point is grand and has a big capacity since it was done up. It's also in a better location (in my opinion) that citywest. The atmosphere was amazing and citywest is a bit of a barn IMO. You wouldn't want to find out on a world title fight night that the place is a bit of a let down as a boxing venue.

Yeah -Kesslers defense the other fight that was subject to purse bids that night has had its press conference and all-but the options are New York, China or Dublin so i reckon it has to be in Dublin sept 26...was talking to the Thai camp today they said all will be revealed soon!
