If Jmm & Cotto Both Win Their Next Matches: What Would Happen?

Most likely the 2 losers will both seek rematches depending on the competitiveness of their fights. But perhaps the 2 winners face off as would the 2 losers and we get somewhat of a round robin tourney.

 

Marquez will still want a Pacquiao fight to see if he can beat him. Cotto will rematch Mosley and Floyd will cry himself to retirement with his cherry popped.

 

That's how i see it. every advantage goes with floyd.

If JMM wins i'll drop pac for him.

 

Mexico completely freaks out & dubs JMM the greatest Mexican warrior since Chavez.

The party will be ON!!!

This is a possible situation. I see Cotto having a chance of beating Pacquiao due to the power/size advantage.

But I do not see how JMM will beat Mayweather Jr. The only way to beat him is with speed and pressure. JMM is a hugely intelligent and skilled boxer but Mayweather Jr is MORE intelligent and skilled, younger AND BIGGER. So, no I don't see JMM winning.

By the way why is JMM allowed to have a catchweight fight with Cotto but Pacquaio can't?

If Marquez and Cotto both win:

PAC retires and enter politics in his home country... Floyd's big mouth retires again for the nth time...

Then Marquez and Cotto will fight each other...


I think the option "ESB Databases Would Explode" will not happen since those 2 fights is 2 months apart... Hysteria from the 1st fight would die down in time for the 2nd fight...

And Mayweather ... well if he looses to WMM he is never going to fight Cotto unless he REALLY needs the money.

If both win...
We'll have the welter weight dvision have:
1. One guy seen by many as the New linear WW Champ, despite no belt on the line - Marquez
2. One guy with a legit claim to have picked up the lineage after Mayweather's retirement - Mosely
3. One guy with a win over the guy above as well as one over the reigning P4P champ - Cotto

And we still have Paul Williams (assuming he can make weight, which he probably can).

Calm down my boricua buddy, I didnt say it to be a smartass its a reasonable question ( and i wanted an excuse to bump the thread since someone made a similiar thread).Seriously though, I never seen a fighter's fans disappear for good after a loss, the longest ive seen on this board was Pavlik fans gone for like 3 months after the Bhop loss but they came back certainly.

 

How could he be seen as the new linear WW champ??? FLoyd is not hte man at WW, and they're fighting at a CW.....Although, there is no legit linear champ at WW, but most people see Mosley as the #1 WW..
