Aren't Pac's people offering to pay his sanctioning fee out of Pac's portion of the purse?

the weight limit for a welterweight title fight is 147 not 145. Unless the welterweight limit for the wbo is 145 which i seriously doubt.

Miguel is acting like a spoilt prima-donna.

He's getting ALL the advantages going into this fight. The only dis-advantage is the purse. And if he beats Pac he will earn more than he could ever imagine. (If Pac loses this is his last huge payday) This purse is a stepping stone to big earnings. and it's a pretty damn big stepping stone.

Cotto is going to outweight Pac by 13 pounds on fight night, and if he wins he will get MASSIVE MASSIVE fights with Mayweather, and rematches with Mosley and Marg, get legacy, Massive paydays and if he wins all these fights a chance to be an atg.

Cotto needs to realise the opportunity he is getting and be more humble. He's fighting THE MAN at the moment and has the chance to replace him as THE MAN if he wins.

The least he could do is put his belt on the line. Or is he scared he's going to lose.

A weight limit means you are not allowed to exceed that weight. It doesn't mean that the fighters can't make a side deal to come in below the limit. Again, there is nothing in the rule books that dissallow catchweights.

Do you know what the purse is? I'll tell you it's 65-35 in Pac favor. To me since Cotto is most likely have to defend his title and is a draw that has big fan base, Cotto deserve to get 40 percent of the split. So why should Cotto accept to defend his title in a catch weight that is only 35 percent? To me thats not fair.

No the limit means it's a fight that is up to that weight limit like up to 147 pounds, not up to 145 pounds.

Cottos the one that says it doesnt mean ****, its PAC AND DIVA COMPANY that want the worthless trinket soooooooooo bad. Cotto doesnt give a ****, and just doesnt want to pay them.

You said it yourself, the belt is completely tainted... yet pac wants to be 'a champion' right? without fighting 'the champion' right? and without allowing the defenders to weigh in at 147 right?

Im glad cotto is taking this position.

I hope you guys dont show up in another thread on 'whats wrong with boxing' and start complaining about ABC organizations and trinkets.... as you all throw stones at the fighters who take stands against them.

Jesus christ, it's like reruns in this place. The catchweight is an agreement between the two fighters. The only thing that the WBO says in regards to weight is that you cannot exceed the limit. Their rules are only violated if you go over the limit for the weight class. So, if the rules are only violated if you exceed the limit, and if the limit is 147 lbs, would a catchweight of 145 lbs. be a violation?

That's an impressive amount of info for someone you apparently are just "critical" of.

Im pretty critical of Hatton, but I wouldn't say I knew **** about the guy pre-Kosta.

I think you actually HATE the guy. You are a HATER!...just fess up so we can all put your ass on an ignore list.

You contribute nothing but hate on this forum for Cotto.

    Your name should p4pCottohater.
You would get Cotto hater award of the year.
Best Cotto hater of the decade.
Greatest compilation of hate posts towards a fighter.

Whatever award they hand out for hating on Cotto...YOU WOULD GET IT.

Just go away...what goes from a thread about Cotto's persistence, turns into an argument about his championship fights and how poor they were in your view.

Instead of coming here, just start a thread saying how much you hate Cotto...its far more constructive and conducive...

Kirk, Arum has offered to pay the fees out of his own pocket. Not only that, but Cotto would be subject to sanctioning fees even in a non-title fight. So if Cotto's only problem is paying the fees(this despite the fact that he's had no problem paying the fees before), and if Arum has offered to pay the fees, then why is he still upset?

Cotto is the WBO champ, and Pac wants to fight him for his belt. I don't think much of the belt, and I think it would be a great win for Pac without the belt. However, that's not my argument here. My argument is whether or not the WBO can force him to defend his belt. The answer to that is yes and they have good reason for doing so. Cotto is a WW champ, the fight is at WW, he should defend his belt.
Im glad cotto is taking this position.

I only complain about the orgs when I feel that they are in the wrong. I've also defended them plenty of times when I feel they are right.

You JUST finished saying how Cotto is being ridiculous for taking this stand. Cotto is arguing against the catchweight, not the title fight.

You aint glad for ****. Stop lying.
