Well, considering Pac is a big favourite, I`d say both TBH.

Its still possible that Pacquiao is overrated at the higher weights, I rank the Hatton win very highly personally but I`d rank a victory over Cotto even more highly.
This victory for Pac if it happens (Im still 50/50 on the outcome) will put Manny on a par with Roy Jones jr as the greatest fighter since Chavez & Whitaker, only Mayweather will have a realistic chance of overtaking him & he may very well need wins over Marquez, Mosely & Pac himself to do so.

    Thats my view.

No I agree with you, definately. If Cotto wins (which IMO would not be an upset), a large part of it will be because he was the better man on the night. It wouldn't be a case of him being underrated, simply because he's not. Underestimated yes, but not underrated.

But I think it would be really unfair if Pacquiao is branded as overrated if he loses. There's no shame in losing to a Miguel Cotto.

Right now i say they are under rating Cotto because they were overwhelmed with what Pac has done in his last fights. This fight is equally as dangerous for Pac before he fought DLH and Hatton. The outcome of those fights were products of how the fighters prepared themselves for the fight, therefore it is safe to conclude that Pac probably did better preparing for those fights. And by the whining and complaints that we are getting now just proves how unconfident a lot of people are about Cotto winning this fight. Cotto is definitely being underrated leading to this fight, and if he wins, its because he is better at this weight and at the same time because Pac has reached his limits in terms of moving up.

He won't get any credit as he will outweigh Pac by 13 pounds and Pac's best weight is actually at 140.

exactly, why does a win/loss have to mean one fighter is good and one bad? why do fans have to react in such an extreme way? pac may be slight favorite but there are plenty backing cotto. Whoever losses will still be an excellent fighter, based on what they've achieved before, they will have just lost to a great fighter.

I hope this thread is deliberately designed to wind sane people up because otherwise it means you've just brought into the frank warren/floyd mayweather idea that you need to be undefeated to be great.

Additionally, why are we pre-emptively, looking retrospectively, at the result of a fight that isn't even on or sure? Its confusing my grasp of time!
