If Forrest Griffin defeats Anderson Silva, I'll be thrilled.

I would be thrilled if Anderson comes out and fights the way he has in his past few fights; his new "zero risk" needs to stop.

Before you berate me for not "getting what real martial arts is about" remeber that when Machida took no chances against Tito it was the closest he ever came to losing because he was so reluctant to finish the fight. Once Machida became more aggressive and took more "chances" (in reality less chances, the shorter it takes to beat somebody the less chance you have of something stupid like Tito landing a triangle) he became a much better fighter.

Machida needs to stay the Machida post Tito, and Anderson needs to stop being the Machida pre Thiago Silva and go back to being the Anderson Silva that he was.

Forest puts on pressure and that may hinder anderson in setting his feet and firing off his deadly combos but it also will allow anderson to eventually get in the clinch. Forest is really tall and it's hard to deal with a tall opponet in the clinch.

People thought that Shogun was gonna kill Forest. Many people thought Rampage was going to Ko him. One thing I learned is never count Forest out.

I think Anderson puts out his best performances against guys who he sees as a threat, especially strikers. He is a counter puncher/striker and I don't see anything other than him taking Griffin out. Griffin, for the most part, uses intelligent striking. I am not sure how this is going to play out. He may try to only stay in the outside, use his range, and try to frustrate Anderson. If that is his strategy, Anderson will have to be prepared into being the aggressor and taking chances.... this goes against what he has been doing recently, so hopefully, he has it in him to do what he has to do to end the night.

Nevertheless, Griffin is the much bigger man, he is certainly a live underdog.

I expect a vintage Anderson Silva performance. TKO 3 - or UD. To use a somewhat spurious comparison - this is the MMA equivalent of Gatti/Mayweather.

Silva is seriously twice the size of Griffin right now. You'll see at the weigh ins.

The money line for Forrest is great, it's like +350 or something; that's a great value bet.

I will be surprised if this fight makes it out of the 2nd round. It is a total mismatch. Silva is going to bludgeon Griffin. Bill Oreilly will watch this fight and jack off; hoping it is the end of MMA.

I often like the better technician to win, and that is a constant theme with this fight. I also love for people to make things interesting. I hope Griffin finds a way to use his size, take Silva down, and make this competitive. I'm just leaning towards a different outcome that is not competitive.

where did that come from? I thought Silva goes from 215 -230 and fORREST goes 225-240 walking around weight.

I saw their faceoff pictures floating around. I thought Forrest would much bigger man but after seeing those pics I think Silva has that advantage as well. Forrest virtually has only a punchers chance.

What I would like to see is Anderson Silva vs. Drysdale. This Drysdale guy is unbelievable, hes pissing Silva off.

Silva called him an idiot and asked how many MMA matches hes won

I like Griffins chances in this fight.

He is hard working enough to get the win on Silva.

Lets not forget Silva hasn't been pushed in any of his past couple fights and Griffin is looking to redeem himself after his tko loss to Rashad.

That in itself will show off a more determined Griffin IMO.

I'm not shock many don't give Forrest a chance to beat Silva. I guess most forgot that Forrest beat Shogun and Rampage the same 2 fighters that was suppost to destroyed Forrest. If Forrest can beat Silva, he might be one of the greatest ufc fighter maybe of all times cause Shogun before losing to Forrest was consider as one of the best mma fighter. Rampage before facing Forrest was consider as a beast and one of the best. Now Silva is officially the number 1 p4p best ufc fighter in the world today. I mean if Forrest can beat Silva. His record of resumes is outstanding Shogun, Rampage, Silva? Are you kidding me?

I'm rooting for Forrest. But I have little confidence that he will make it out of 1 round, almost none that he will survive 2. We all saw what happened to Hendo when he tried to "push" Anderson. Hendo is better then forrest.
