So heres the deal.... I want to start boxing as a third sport. How would I get involved in the boxing scene? I think that I am in fairly decent shape because I do 2 high school sports(Football, and Track), but that can always be improved. What would my first steps look like to become involved? Thanks
Scout for some gyms and check them out individually and see which one you most feel comfortable in. Once you choose a gym, your going to have to find and get a trainer. Those are normally supplied by the gym and normally have to be payed for seperetly or together with going to the gym (you have to ask about that). Once you find a trainer and work out days and times to start, then you are on your way. Also and I'm telling you now, if you don't dedicate a minimum of 3-4 days a week to boxing then you won't improve much at all. Don't just go in on the days you have lessons and then leave. Come in on off days and practice what you learned in the lesson. Boxing is a very fun sport, but also a very hard sport to learn. Goodluck.
For me it was a full time sport there was no other time for other sports but boxing. So it will be hard to do as a third sport.
Join a gym. Thread closed. Concentrating on three sports means you train every day. Stick to boxing, combat cannot be tested when it comes to a physical challenge.
Thanks guys, Some of you mentioned that it would take allot of time, this is ok because I expected that and if I enjoyed it enough it would take footballs spot. I'll get on that stuff right away!
