Funny that you should bring that up! I was speaking with Cordoba's manager and they want a rematch in Dublin. Ricardo loved the crowd and was humbled by the way he was treated in the days after the fight when he was still in ireland. could be one for down the line

BOXING NEWS This content is protected This content is protected Tyson - will face McDermott next month. TYSON: I'LL SURPRISE MALONEY Tyson Fury insists he is ready to prove Frank Maloney wrong when he takes on John McDermott for the English heavyweight title next month. The 6ft 9in 21-year-old has recorded seven knockouts in his seven professional fights to date and is now gearing up for his first title challenge on September 11. And, after revealing that he has fully recovered from his back injury, Fury has told promoter Maloney that he can expect a surprise. "It will make a nice change for Frank Maloney to finally have a decent heavyweight on one of his shows," he said. "I've watched some of the big lumps he's had on his shows recently and it's like watching Dumbo on Ice - they can barely stand upright, let alone throw punches. "To be fair to John McDermott, he's the best of a bad lot with Maloney's heavyweights and, thankfully for him, he can fight a lot better than he looks." Maloney suggested Fury's opponents to date have been 'ordinary' and accused the youngster of having a big mouth, but the boxer feels he can back up his claims. "I might talk the talk but I walk the walk as well and I'll prove that against McDermott," he said. "Maloney obviously believes that McDermott can beat me, but I think that just proves what I said before - what Maloney knows about heavyweights could be tattooed on the back of my big toe."
I would love to see that but as you said down the line he was within a whisker of losing the last time .
Dunne was well down on the scorecards, and on the verge of being screwed in my opinion, I thought he was 1 or 2 rounds ahead
I had cordoba one round up going into round 11, and I though I was being harsh on Dunne, that was until I seen the judges cards afterwards........ I cant for the life of me understand what they were thinking!!
It was 1-2 rounds either way MAXIMUM. Great fight though. It was a great fight but not one I would be in a hurry to remake. That said Cordoba is thoroughly deserving of another go. Probably in his best interest too if he has a fight or two before that happens Dunne was superb with guts and heart that night. Its great he can go and dig deep and fight in the trenches if needs be but you only get a limited number of those fights (unless you are in a small % of 'that' type of fighter) before it takes a heavy toll on you. I'd love to see Dunne back to his slick outside boxing in the next fight but with the new power that he had in the last fight. I don't want to see him just ploughing forward like he did at the end of the Cordoba fight. Lets see some old fashioned Dunne skill wise with some new era Dunne power and stamina.
A bit more stamina and back to his slick boxing would be good....Combine that with his apparent new power, makes for a decent fighter. By the way, is the Poonsawat fight confirmed yet??Like venue etc...
