I agree. H2h a peak Bowe might have beaten Lewis too but its close to 50-50. Big deal, Holy is one of the greatest fighters ever, nothing to get upset about.

You act as if your being controversial?

Its a pick em fight in my opinion. Obviously Lewis came out on top when they did fight(even tho the 'drawn' fight was more conclusive than their 2nd)

Would Holy been able to hold Lewis off more if he was in his peak...probably.

    I'd probably still back Lewis.

    Yeah Lewis wins for me.

Holyfield was tough as hell but no way is he knocking out Lennox.

I see the result not being too far from their first fight (although not a draw obviously).

When was Holyfield's prime? In the early 1990s he was heavily criticized by the writers of the time for struggling against Bert Cooper and labouring to wins over aged Holmes and Foreman. He was seen as having been fortunate that Tyson had been imprisoned before he had to fight him and that Douglas angled for one big payday.
I think Holyfield wasn't considered great until he performed the miracle of beating Tyson, not by evading him for 12 rounds in the hope of eking out a decision as conventional wisom would have, but by attacking him head on. Yet just prior to that fight, Holyfield would have been considered to on the slide, having been KO'd forthe first time a year earlier in the Bowe rubber-match. By then halthough he was arguably bigger and harder-hitting, his skills were considered diminished.

I'd fancy a prime Holyfield to outwork Lewis as he did in the Bowe rematch.. However I fancy the Bowe in the first Holyfield fight to do them both..;)

    Lewis had Bowe's number.

Nobody knew that better than Riddick himself.

    Holyfield was inconsistent.

People are overrating him lately because of his willingness to fight anyone despite being totally shot.

    Lewis, stylewise, had his number.

Comparing a prime Holyfield to the Holyfield who a prime Lewis fought you would have to say that a prime Holyfield would beat Lewis.

I don't think that was a prime Lewis though.

Prime Lewis was probably around the Morrison fight I'd say.

The Lewis II performance was probably the last stand of Holyfield's career....... he hasn't looked anything like since.
