He's had a meeting with Frank Warren and the plan is to have two fights before challenging for a world title. The first fight will be on the Belfast card and the second fight will be on 11th December in what he hopes will be a world title eliminator. If he wins both fights then he wants to fight for a world title around February/March next year. http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/Boxing-Arthur-a-man-with.5536375.jp
WBO anyone? I bet that Warren's manipulation of the WBO continues. Still good news for Arthur, though.
''Ideally I'd like to fight next year for the WBO lightweight title but I'll happily challenge for the WBC or WBA versions." :yep
Let's see if he can legitimately win one this time It does seem odd how they all want to win a WBO one and seldom talk about any of the others - Mitchell was on saying he wants to be WBO world champion, then step up to 135. It would be interesting to find out which Warren fighter was the last one to challenge for a WBC title - on it's own. Not a unification, not challenging for the WBC and WBO (ala Lockett). Bruno perhaps?
I didn't even read the article! That's how predictable it is. Remember that Arthur didn't actually win his first world title in the ring either- masterstroke by Fwank, was that. 'I'd happilly challenge for the WBC or WBA versions (if Fwank lets me, that is)':rofl
How boring 2 bums then a BO shot, didnt bother to read it either. Spose its asking way to much he actually prove himself domestically at the weight vs Thaxton, Murray, Rees etc, seems he will win the world title then defend against the best Brtitish lightweights FW has on his books like he did at S feather. AAA = waste of telent, still as long as he's earning I expect he is happy enough.
Agreed don't wanna see him having anymore marking time bouts and especially beating on some **** scared guy who got knock down every time Arthur came towards him.
This show is just getting better and better.... a decent work out for AA to keep him heading down the right path...:good
think he should clean up scottish lightweights first . lee mcallister comm champ would be top fight to prove he best in scotland:think
I thought he was taking some time off now...to rest or something? there was a thread on here the other day with an article from some scottish paper...
Who is Arthurs trainer these days? Is he still training with Wayne McCullough these days or not. As if he is they will get the biggest cheer of the night.
