You know what and im going to get flamed for this but here goes:-

A bit ago i was re watching the Lewis/Holyfield 1 fight and i scored it whilst the commentary was off and when i tallied the scorecard up it read 115-115....yes i know very off considering i thought that Lewis coasted the first time.

The second fight i thought was very close, but i have yet to score that on mute after what i uncovered the first time round.

Where is border control when you need it. There is always one plonker who accidently slips out of the general forum and turns up in the intelligent forum. **** off back to The other forum with the rest of the lab monkeys.

Bollox. Lewis is too good of a boxer. Maybe Holy gets to him 1 out 3 but let's say history shows us it wouldn't be in the first two bouts :)

I dont think theres any controversy about this opinion at all. Holyfield was a natural born fighter with the most beautiful 'forward rhythm' you could ever have. That bounce and then the lightning combinations would have given Lewis all kinds of trouble.
Holyfield had serious problems with Bowe because in the early 90s, Bowe was a brilliant offensive fighter, working behind one of the best left jabs in the history of the heavyweight division.
Lewis wouldnt have been that offensive against Holyfield, he was an ultra cautious fighter that could only work to his own rhythm, Lewis could never have survived a proper fight with a great fighter, he needed to jab and get his rhythm with his flat-footed, centre ring style .... Holyfield would have got to him thats for sure ..
Lewis v Holy 2 was a microcosm of what would have happened if they had of fought 6-7 years before, Lewis caught an old, slow Holy with a shot and Holy backed off to the ropes, hurt .. Lewis kept pawing out that ineffectual, scared jab because he was terrified of what this old Holyfield would fire back with, and once again this was a Holyfield that was old and rusty even then ....

Lewis used his size advantage to good effect in his career and Steward made him dominate behind that jab which was smart, but he wasnt a natural fighter, he didnt have it in his gut ..
Holyfield had everything but size and power, he was a natural 'heart' fighter that would have beaten Lewis if they'd have fought between 90 - 96 as far as im concerned. Theres nothing controversial or outlandish about this opinion, Holyfield was the better fighter, period. Lewis may have statistics but he also has a resume that shows he was stopped by 2 of the very worst belt holders in history in McCall and Rahman ..

If people want to watch great fights, check out,

    Holyfield v Qawi
    Holyfield v Dokes
    Holyfield v Bowe 1, 2, 3
    Holyfield v Moorer 2
    Holyfield v Mercer
    Holyfield v Cooper
    Holyfield v Tyson

I cant quite think of any fights that Lewis has been involved in were he didnt sit behind the jab and use his reach for safety purposes, his win against Razor Ruddock was good but other than that, im struggling to think of any good fights he's been in .... Its sooooo Safety first, no risk, point scoring with Lewis and that kills his legacy as a heavyweight ..

    Hi ******,

what about the Golota, Briggs, Klitchsko, Grant fights for a start but further to that ridiculous point at the end what about Joe Louis, I take it his legacy doesn't count either then, Larry Holmes? Nah he used his jab too.... Ali? Nah bit of a jabber. Tyson? Too many jabs! Hmmmm greatest heavyweight of all time? Jack Dempsey... no jab you see.

Really are people this stupid. Especially coming from a Wlad fan. GTFO:lol:

The original post states that Holyfield knocks out Lewis prime for prime. No chance. Holyfield couldn't knock out a fat aged preacher so how would he bingo Lewis whose defense was impeccable in his prime. Yes Lewis got ko'd by McCall relatively early in his carrer but ffs McCall knew less about the shot than Lewis did, he threw it with his bloody eyes closed. Could have happened to anyone. I admit getting sparked by Rahman was pretty poor but Lewis had barely trained for that fight and was extremely careless with his hands down. Just look what happened in the rematch when he actually trained and focussed.

How is so hard to believe a Prime Holyfield couldn't knock out a prime Lewis when.............................a boxer with a known CRACK problem, McCall.... and a nobody at the time........Rahman.........both....Knock Lewis the **** out while HE was in his Prime?
Hey dickhead....................I told you why it would happen.

Jeez you're a ****ing clown. I didn't realise being a pro heavyweight with a crack problem meant you were unable to throw lucky punches!! When Lewis fought McCall he was nowhere near his prime and the first Rahman fight he was untrained and complacent. I'm telling you why it wouldn't happen, dickhead

Rahman and McCall have better, harder right hands than evander.

evander even tho built wasnt as physically big or strong as both men....also both men are awkward and pacient.

evander was clearly not big enough to bull lewis. yet he showed good handspeed and determination against bowe. also bowe was a technically sound infighter. where as lewis was a more controlled yet limited (in his early years) jab-cross fighter.

so i think a bowe anology is a incorrect one. evander has a great chin, a solid defence and a nice snappy left hook but i dont think he could knock out lewis...prolly drop him in the mid 90's but lewis at the end of the 90's was on an incredible roll. and started to become a complete fighter.

in the early 90's holy could prolly out point him...if mercer could do it i think even could give it a go.

Can our friend please explain Holyfield losing to Moorer then?

Who wasn't as good as McCall?

If we want to pitpick - pretty much every fighter lost a fight to a guy that they ought to have beaten at the time.

    Mosley - Forrest (RIP)
    Hopkins - Taylor
    DLH - Mosley
    Barrera - Jones
    Morales - Raheem
    Witter - Bradley
    Tyson - Douglas
    Golota - Grant
