Just wondering what kind of drills you do when your boxing. For example we have something called 'the corner' where one fighter stays in the corner on D and another fighter throws shots for 30 seconds. Then the next person takes over. Then the next and so on until the guy has had 3 minutes on D in the corner. Its at a good pace and its very good for improvng the lads defence and ability to deal with punches.

    What you got?

There's loads aint there, one i like doing at the moment is being on defence with the hands low getting just a jab thrown at us as many times as they want and improving your slipping and movement and after a minute swap over.

We actually do something like that at my gym, except the guys that do it do it for the full 3 mins. Or we do a catching drill where we have our hands open and someone throws a jab down the middle, you try to clap your hands together catching the guys hand.

one for improving the foot work is you both get in the ring and youve got to use your front foot to touch the other persons back foot. it's gets you using your feet correctly moving in and out so the other person cant touch your back foot and is also a decent warm up. and you can do the same using your hands to touch someone else's back shoulder to alternate the routine

I like that but he square a lot, thats part of the "practise" aye ?

I probs "defend" more when i shadow rather than throw, just the motions though maybe.

Shadow for me is wind up or down time, throwing ya fave and comfy combos or working ma concentration.

    Nice vid :good

He is under a lot of opposing strain as regards His Groin and Psosas and Hamstrings. If I remember this was at the end of a session, The Kid hadnt Boxed at that time. Its what happens when you take the Elastic off where you see why its used :D.

This is one of my own favourites. Another one I usually like is to ad that the one who slips the jabs can counter with up to three fast punches to build speed in the hands as well.

Another thing I put on my boxers is when one of them are pressuring the other one all the time, to make her/him learn how to move away from a pressurefighter with just using movements and jabs. Works good for them who get´s a little bit scared when the pressure is high on them in sparring and fights
    Hope it helps.
    Cheers

Highlander, whats Happening the muscles are working but Stableizing at the same time everything has 2 jobs to do to stay correct. Usually one side completes the action while the other stabalises. On his Head He has what I call a Posturelater keeps the Head where it should be. Its the Bodys job to Balance it :good

Get two fighters two stand at either side of a line facing each other. Each fighter has to hit the other without letting their back foot cross over the line. This means they have to work on their long range game. Your front foot can cross the line only.

i do a drill where two guys are in the ring, doing rounds, whose ever name i call that person will rush the other fighter throwing shots (usually just 1 -2's), the other guy is slipping and blocking shots, when the backpedalling fighter reaches the ropes they then start moving in the opposite direction same guy is still throwing non stop shots when ropes are reached he moves forward again and so on until i shout the other fighters name and roles are reversed

main thing for this is for the guy throwing shots to really go for it and have really high intensity, also i like it as you can concentrate on one fighter if one is less conditioned or maybe one has a fight coming up you can keep the other guy idle for as long as you want and really push whoever you want to concentrate on, it also helps novice guys get used to someone rushing them trying to take them out which at first can be overwhelming to the novice
